Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted March 3, 2017 Moderator Report Posted March 3, 2017 Is this one of his with a proper engine and timing chain or one he converted to rubber bands?
l j shaw Posted March 3, 2017 Report Posted March 3, 2017 I'd say yes it's worth it,.....the replica copies recreation etc etc etc just haven't got what this has, timing chain or rubber band ? That could effect the price ....but if it goes for that price will we ever see it at shows or meets again ??
Danish Posted March 3, 2017 Report Posted March 3, 2017 Hmm, I'm not sure. For me it's no where near as desirable as later cars like FEV or the Rothman's Mk2s.

katana Posted March 4, 2017 Report Posted March 4, 2017 No worries - just this post, never occurred before. Its like a picture inserted in an old post that has since been deleted at source or after a web server move so the link is broken.
aardvark101 Posted March 4, 2017 Report Posted March 4, 2017 Oooo, a racing seat, im sold, wheres my purse 1
YellowTaxi Posted March 6, 2017 Report Posted March 6, 2017 Someone will buy it, and I very much doubt we will ever see it again. My missus often says ''Some people have too much money'' so true. Personally I wouldnt give one tenth of that for it, I dont really get the original rally thing. Too valuable to rally and horrible as a road car means its only really good as an ornament...an expensive one.
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted March 6, 2017 Moderator Report Posted March 6, 2017 But Twincams make great expensive ornaments. Good for storing Mk2 parts as well
stephens_xpack Posted March 7, 2017 Report Posted March 7, 2017 Have to agree, I wouldn't pay a tenth, even if I could easily afford to do so.
OSF Contributor Mexican Gerbil Posted March 7, 2017 OSF Contributor Report Posted March 7, 2017 Wish I had the money to get collectors pieces like this and put them back to what they were built for. This is a race car not a museum piece. Someone I know has a concourse mk2 mex he's building, always joke that when he's gone I'm going to get it and rally it
Spot Posted March 26, 2017 Report Posted March 26, 2017 I watched that go through the auction and it made £180k plus buyers fees on top
HotRodMatt Posted March 26, 2017 Author Report Posted March 26, 2017 There was a bubble arch LeMans green Mk1 Mexico two doors down from where I work that was on sale for 60k but sold for 80k this week. Only sat there a few days. 6k miles from new apparently. Sent from my SM-A320FL using Tapatalk

Are you all cashed up now not having to keep the EU afloat or something? 1
