After a few years away from Cortina MK2s I have ended up with two of them both 1600Es the Saluki Bronze car is now back on the road after 26 years with a lot of help from my body shop mate who did the metal work in his garage we kept the dented wing as it was the original . The second Blue car was a unfinished project and needed much more work but is there now all but for a re paint and the engine needs putting back together has a fast road cam stage two head light weight flywheel for a Lotus 1650cc

I also have the Nasty Nissan you can see poking out of the garage I tuned the engine in the Blue Cortina and put in a 2000e gearbox so they will not both feel the same to drive

the photo of the saluki bronze  mk2 finished (XGN 148G) . Was this taken at Bromley pageant this year , kind of looks familiar !!

Was going to ask similar question, but was going to ask if that was at the classic Ford show at Battlesbridge?

Very nice cars, love the bronze. And I know Laindon is a relatively big place but I would be more frugal with your location settings, just a thought.

No not done Battlesbridge yet only to buy parts the only other show I did was at Ingatestone Hall . Safe with people finding the cars two of them are not at home but in a well guarded workshop .

The r32 must be a bit of kit!

The Cortina's must feel prehistoric in comparison

Yes but still nice to drive the GTR is now also a old car but can still manage 0 to 60 of 3.7 seconds on road tyres with me driving, and ran a quarter mile of 11.7 even though I missed a gear and rolled the last few yards. You can see how 4wd helps pull away , a FD RX7 in the other lane that looks like it has parked there.

Welcome Ian I’m guessing your looking for a Mk2 project then

Sorry, should have replied earlier. I am hoping I have found a mk1 RS2000 at auction, so no a mk1! I will post pictures if I win it.

Nice that you have old classic and classic! I had a skyline R33 GTS-T that I ran at Santa Pod. I managed 14.1s with a completely standard engine, but running 1.2bar of boost.

I thought that was Battlesbridge as well. I missed the Ford show this year, but went to the American show. There were still loads of OSF's. Cracking show really enjoyable.
