As it stands TOTM 2020 will be happening.

Until we are told that River Dart Park is shut we will press on with the date. If the nation goes into lock down then obviously it will be postponed till later in the year.

The other option will be to hold a run only event with no camping.

It is with great regret that Chris and I have decided and agreed that we've no option but to cancel the Tour of The Moor event for this year.

With ongoing, and likely increasing, restrictions on public movement and government instructions on social distancing that are likely to last many months into the future, it is impossible for us to keep working on the route planning. Though we understand that at present the camping venue remains open, it is with significant restrictions on availability of the equipment and facilities there, greatly reducing the attraction for those of you planning to attend with families. Were we to have proceeded, we would also have had to drop the evening quiz / beers and the lunch time gathering stop. Altogether when these various issues are combined, there seems little point in holding the event this year.

We considered moving the event to later in the year but on balance, the risk would remain of us having to cancel it then too.

Full refunds will be issued via Paypal. Old Skool Ford will absorb the losses for any committed expenditure to date.

Although I think it’s a good move, I feel sorry for those who have put so much effort into organising such an event with no outcome. My thanks go to all involved in try to organise it, just a pity it can’t go ahead but common sense must prevail

cheers Col.

Thanks Col. For sure it's a disappointment, there was no real choice though. I hope those people who've  booked hotels can get refunds

I'm gutted for you all.

I wasnt going to say but Mrs Gerbil and I are expecting our first child on the weekend of the tour. I was going to put it all in place before making my excuse and not take part in the run.

What with all the stress of Mrs Gerbil now on the "at risk" list I've been close to breaking point as I'm still having to work. I'm relieved that I wont have any more planning for a while but sad you guys will miss out this year.

What was just an idea in a pub with a mate of mine back in 2012 and for it to finally happen, I'm so pleased this has got a small following.

Please stay healthy out there. I want to see you all in 2021 with baby Gerbil
