Craig holland Posted December 31, 2020 Report Posted December 31, 2020 (edited) Ayup. I'm another newbe from up north. I used to repair mk1 escorts in my youth. Then decided 20yrs ago to forget them as they were getting too expensive. Then out of the blue I have bought a very cheap 1300 gt. It's a basket case but I think i have one last car in me before its too late so here goes nothing. Ps I'm now 60yrs old. Edited December 31, 2020 by Craig holland 2

Craig holland Posted December 31, 2020 Author Report Posted December 31, 2020 I have ordered panels. Floor, inner wings, bulkhead, chassis rails etc. Putting big wings on it. Was going for 2.0 pinto but quite fancy 1300 supercharged just to be a little different. I have a blank canvas really 😳 1

Craig holland Posted December 31, 2020 Author Report Posted December 31, 2020 Only have the one. It will be the spare wheel if I get that far or live that long. Lol
colr6 Posted December 31, 2020 Report Posted December 31, 2020 I’ve just looked at the pic and it’s unusual to see a mk1 with its original factory wing gaps.....lol 3

Not sure all the youngsters are into mk1 escorts like us In the early days on here (2004 - 2008/ 9) there were quite a lot of youngsters on here. Gradually the price rise in the cars has pushed them out of reach of them though.....or they've moved on to to the latest fad, be that social media or cars. Welcome to the forum Craig, look fwd to seeing another one saved. 😎 1

Craig holland Posted January 16, 2021 Author Report Posted January 16, 2021 The more I do the less there is. Lol
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted January 17, 2021 Moderator Report Posted January 17, 2021 Gosh!!! . Are you sure its worthwhile proceeding with this one?
Craig holland Posted January 17, 2021 Author Report Posted January 17, 2021 Nope. I have ordered all panels so all it will take is plenty of time. 😆 1
notenoughtime Posted January 17, 2021 Report Posted January 17, 2021 Nice one Craig where are you actually going to start with the welding? You possibly need to start a project 1
Craig holland Posted January 17, 2021 Author Report Posted January 17, 2021 I need to repair spring hangers first. I'm using 60mm box section cut down as it's stronger. That's my starting point. The secret is to tack everything on and then work forwards. I've got laser levels set up both ways to help keep it straight and true. If all else fails I have a large wheelie bin to put it all in. 😆 🤣 😂 1
