So, popped along to a Saturday morning breakfast meet being put on by the West Sussex RS Owners club at Fuel Coffee House in Henfield.

Only two classics, mine and a yellow MK2 RS2000 and a lot of newer stuff. Nice morning out and the people were all nice as well.

Plus, unexpectedly, I won car of the month! Bonus!

Well according to some, a 1998 Escort GTI is a classic 😁

I think it's a generational thing, you some of the older gents in their 'vintage' MG's, Alvis', Jag's and Triumphs and they are rocking the tweed jackets and corduroy trousers and brogues and loving life.

And then there's saddo me, still rocking Fred Perry and Reebok classics - I don't think I'll ever be Vintage, more like council boy racer stuck in a 80/90's retro mindset 🤣

Thats big dollars, more than you would pay for one here. Some things arent standard though even for an Australian car. A 1980 car would have metal airfilter assembly not the early plastic Cortina type ones but that just nit picking.

Thats not a bad price actually you get an extra 25% here on that if it had stayed. Air filter is wrong vintage though should be a metal one. But overall no hidden surprises just needs a bit of care to make it new again.

Went to pendine sands for the vhra racing great weekend spent all day Saturday in the pub as it was pouring down haha!

Slight hiccup on the way down when brother got a puncture though! Kwik fit tried to tell us cars haven't used inner tubes in 20 odd years... Luckily some other hot rod good Samaritans came to the rescue with a new tube and a independent garage was more than happy to fit the tube for a tenner. Good job I was there as pit crew, it's amazing how much you can fit in a Cortina boot!

Took a trip out to the Petrol Heads cars and coffee morning in Runnymede pleasure Gardens this morning, surprised how busy it was, probably well over 100 cars there.

It was a last moment decision to go this morning as it was dry and sunny  well worth the drive.

Just under an hour each way, and gave the old girl a good long run on the motorway before the weather disappears.

The Ren 5 Turbo 2 was lovely!
