I went to a local, ( Eastbourne) car meet this morning. It was a run out as well, but I couldn't  do that, so home early 😕

Just a couple of pictures.

In the early 90's we (every year) went for a day out in the Mk2 visiting the Essex RSOC regional day at Boreham. Night ferry on Saturday from Hook of Holland to Harwich, 7am arrival on the Sunday in Harwich. Short drive to Boreham for the event. This is 1993 when the Escort RS Cosworth just had arrived. At the end of the day back to Harwich for (again) the night ferry back. Back at work at 9am on the Monday !

Cars Under the Stars again but a different venue. (There is a different organizer each week and each hold one the same Saturday of every month.) So you can go to a different one every week for the whole month if you want but I think it gets a bit samey.

One of these two cars won a prize on the night but in the spirit of sportsmanship I wont mention which cheating b*****d won it.

Its not judged like a councours just what the judges happen to like on the night. The organizers wife did that one so how can you possibly compete with a vintage car with curtains and tassles!

Yes s the same as your Mexico spoiler except ours were always black and you cant actually see it because the number plate is in the way there is a silver stripe that goes across it that has Escort written backwards so when someone sees you in the rear view mirror it reads as Escort the right way round. Trouble is they didnt think it through very well because to see that you have to put the number plate over the vent holes which is silly. So i cover the decal on mine rather than the vents.

Classic and Muscle Coffee Morning

Won a trophy, 3rd Place in the Fast Fours and Rotary Category

Ticket Prize Draw was a $100 Speed Shop Gift Voucher. The Ferrari owners ticket got picked out of the bowl. Not sure he find much at the Aussie and American Muscle Car Speed shop for his Italian Exotic and if he does he wont find anything for a hundred bucks!

Nope I doubt they go for long cruise drives these days just short days out. Mine was basically the most economical car there.

Its a General Motors Holden Torana SLR5000. A bit of a Bathurst race classic from the 70's

I did feel very out of place there. Even the ones that beat me in my category were street Machine RX4 Coupes so hugely ported they shot flames out the exhaust pipe and second place was a Holden Gemini (Based on your Chevette) but with a modern all chromed Nissen Turbo Intercooled thing under the bonnet. I think I was the only non street machined heavy weight there!
