Admin Vista Posted November 13, 2021 Admin Report Posted November 13, 2021 A few pics I took at the NEC today Mk3 Cortina with all the Patina sorting the men from the boys on the way in. A healthy puff of blue smoke from the old pinto with each prod of the loud pedal! Hard working guys on our club stand flying the flag for us in Hall 8. Big thanks to @stephens_xpack @Ray Nick and Ian for their efforts South African Loveliness with a couple of Peranas and an XR6 Silverstone Auction Stand. How the mighty have risen. Look at that line of Classic Fords in there amongst thebl E Types and Astons! The Black RS500, unsurprisingly, getting a lot of attention but the hammer price on both of the 3 door Cosworths they had was north of £100k. Ford exotica GT40's. Can you spot the kits from the genuine articles? High performance Road registered track day car assembled from a Magnum Panel built shell. Still fancy that Porsche Cayman for your trackdays? And a few non Fords. Ooooooh, sweet. steps around the back to admire air-cooled flat 6. Wait, WTF is this witchcraft?! 🤣 Now this is Dowsett Cars 1930'S ERA Alfa Romeo race replica with MX5 engine box and running gear. I think it's stunning! And last but not least, lunch. It was OK, but £35? Jesus wept! 6
The Transplanter Posted November 13, 2021 Report Posted November 13, 2021 When the cars are cheaper than the food 😂 1

Prices were £7 to £8 for hot dogs at stalls around the place and I'd have probably needed to go back for a second one by mid afternoon if I'd opted for that choice

I bet the owners would be disappointed with that. Those same cars fetched similar money here and your market is usually 50% up on ours for the same models. Yet I see that Sierra and Escort Cosworths are fetching incredibly good money. So the steam has gone out of the Old Skool Market do you think?

So the steam has gone out of the Old Skool Market do you think? Maybe but the white RS2000 made £52,800 which is pretty strong when compared to the TC and the RS1600! I was surprised at the two RS500 Cosworth's both selling at sub £90k. Some cheap Capri's though! I see Mike Brewer liquidating some of his stock ! ! ! 1
Painterman Posted November 15, 2021 Report Posted November 15, 2021 I dont think there commision charges helped. 12.5% plus 15% vat thats way to much.i watched on line mostly traders 1
Jay_harrier Posted November 15, 2021 Report Posted November 15, 2021 Great photos, slightly annoying I didn't get there although there's another one in March and ouch! food is nearly a expensive as the ticket to get in!
Painterman Posted November 15, 2021 Report Posted November 15, 2021 I know the stall holders pay a lot for pitch but 7-8 quid for a sausage in a bun bit much
