I don't dislike it , because it's the sun downer vans original. But I wouldn't fit one to an un cut van. 🤪 1

Most of which survive today. Ford didnt immediately proceed though they felt that the RS tag conflicted with their GT sports range and also the derogatory Australian slang term of RS. Instead they thought the flat nose of the Mexico / RS1800 suited the local market better and the GS Rally Pack was born as their premium sports model from 1977 to 79 till they decided to freshen the range up with their own droop snoot version largely in response to the popularity of the Professionals TV series. 2
Johnny Boy Posted July 27, 2023 Report Posted July 27, 2023 Are the droop fronts on Australian and UK different ?

Only that the Australian sun makes them fade at different rates to the metal painted parts! The nose cones are the same but there are quite alot of differences in the rest of the car though.
katana Posted July 28, 2023 Report Posted July 28, 2023 I'm liking the 3 Capri's - Orange, Blue and Lime Green - those colours suit and just POP in the sun! Wouldn't work for us 😢 1

Wouldn't work for us 😢 How about a purple pink that was there too? This Capri lived on my street most of its life but was orange too before the guy who got it in the owners will returned it to its original colour. The RS3100 was its original blue and the Orange Mk3 was privately imported as we never got those so is its original UK colour, only the lime green one with the Cosworth engine was not an original colour. The Original Yellow has some pop too! 1
katana Posted July 28, 2023 Report Posted July 28, 2023 The yellow is nice, twas a colour we got also. I can't say the 'rivieria blue' rings any bells for a UK colour. The above 'pink / purple is deffo an Aussie colour - this was our Purple . . . . 2

We did have that colour here but I don't remember ever seeing it in a Capri. It was called Wild Violet and I mainly am reminded of a Twincam my friend owns. But looking at all the beautiful stand out colours suddenly reminded me of the horrible drab things the dealers just to force us onto today, the same silver grey black or white. They even try charging extra for a bright colour now or agressively convince you that you better not buy a colour because of resale value. The streets are just so boring now. When a couple Capri like those above drives down the street you really see it.

Have to agree with you regarding modern colour choice, I looked at a car park where I used to work and it could have been an old black and white photo such was the dullness of the cars, I always thought that white was the cheap base colour and buyers paid extra for a primary colour! 1

I stopped and asked how much they were with the intent to send them to Vista as a gift but when I heard the price of a few hundred bucks the joke would have been on me spending all that money to sit in his shed LOL
