i can see from the picture your wasting your time, the bent clips are a fraction of the correct size, unfortunately its the case with most of them, and they just spin off, if you can find a new old stock quinten hazel one, they are ok, but dont buy the modern quinten hazel junk made by firstline, theyre rubbish as well, as is much of that junk they sell, they cant even get the bush bore diameter correct in their track control arms the other option is to have a chat with your aussie mate justin, he usually has a genuine ford one tucked away somewhere for about a hunded quid

give Hockley Enterprises a call, reason i say them, is they do the 70s green used on some 70s japanese cars, as well as the usual gold, silver and black, they also do chrome plating, zinc plating for nuts bolts etc is done by the bucket load like everything, if you do some prep work first, the job will be far better, ie, you can just give to them dirty and rusty, they will acid dip, but dont expect it to be rolls royce standard, but if you sand blast it all first, then the job will be far superior Hockley Enterprises Essex Ltd 8 Grainger Road Southend On Sea SS2 5BZ Tel: 01702 614067 Fax: 01702 462163 info@hockleyenterprises.co.uk

-
im going to take a guess that he wants paint stripper, as blasting methods can so easily warp a panel if done incorrectly, and bonnets are particularly at risk of it
