I just received two bottles of Liqui Moly lead substitude. Just want to test it for myself. Half a liter in total, and as per direction for use it is 10 ML at 10 Liters of gasoline mix. So 500 ML may go a long way with just 800 miles a year for me.

That is a long time ago. Times have changed a lot and the rules at oval racing as well. I wish we had still this sort of racing we had back in the days. We had many more entertainment with more different divisions of racing cars as we have now. ( at least in Netherlands )

Distastefully Modified Old Skool Fords - Show us your worst!
guido replied to Vista's topic in OLD SKOOL FORD CHAT
i remember the late seventies. Back then custom made cars were cool like that. If you look at it now, well no thank you. I have seen classic VW beetles with a converted "rolls Royce" front end. And one with twin front headlights. -
We had some motorcycles in the family. My parents rode them when i was a kid. My mother was a rare sight back in the days. One of the only few in the mid seventies that rode a motorcycle in our erea, and the one in the picture Yamaha was one of them in blue color. After that she went to ride the BMW

Also good for classic cars It is by brand called Liqui Moly. You may search for that one if you like.

I used it many years ago. Recently looked for it. I had from STP. But not finding any. Wynns has it. But as i spoke to a dyno guy he said as Johnny Boy told already, not to worry to much. Only thing i would not do is get Ethanol in the fuel, So that is a no-go for me. But unleaded can be drivin. If you persist on having leaded fuel, you buy leaded fuel, no substitude for real leaded as was. it is racing fuel by the most today. And expensive. I can buy it at least 4 € per Liter

I still Have one yahaa, 1963 unrestored, but boy i aint gonna sell it for peanuts. Wait a minute, i have a Rover v8 engine and a large Eaton blower 🤔

We had last weekend a worldcup Stockar F1 at Venray speedway in the Netherlands. Some British racers came over here in F2 and F1 It was full house there. I went to view the WC cup F1 on last Sunday. Packed with loads of action. The British took the win home. Aprox 12.000 viewers that day. Who of you members do know oval racing? And who was been over here to watch oval racing in general

My boys...
guido replied to Corktina's topic in READERS RIDES (PAST & PRESENT) PICTURES, BROCHURES & ARCHIVES
We had this in two door. I know one owner just two streets away, who has almost or may exactly identical Taunus as my parents had. A shame they did sell it. I could not afford this car back then, just could not pay for little things technical , trim inner and outer was in superb condition. It belonged to my grandfather before. My parents drove it for like 6 years. Reason why, i can not recal. Many years ago, i am 58 now. Very nice car. -
yep, we have or better said, i had a good and nice welcome with you Britisch Folks. Hmmmm.. some years ago but still. Today we had world championship stockar F1 in Holland place called Venray Raceway. UK racers and spectators made the trip to us. I was there today. So top notch i'd say 👍

@Rally Pack, Netherlands is by far the most Tax robbing money country there is. About 65-70% is tax on fuel.
-
alright, be good to have some UK classic Ford here in the Netherlands or "Holland" as been named as such. Great Forum i feel like home Good stuff coming from UK still. Tomorrow i will watch world championship with British racers Finals Stoclar F1 ... Venray in the Netherlands have a nice evening, and do come visit us if you can.

Paypal does not accept my card, wich is validated. So i canceled my order for one window screen logo 🤔 Maybe by Bank transfer?

i don't know. 25 years experience in tuning engines and dyno testing he has. seen many cars from road to race rally so i think he did some test.

Yes, sorry i mixed it up I just talked to Jarno, you may know him. Fuel in Germany has better quality, besides that it is no problem to have unleaded on an old car. He told me that it is to life of valve seats, that is so minimal, not to worry about to much with less than 2000 miles in a year. Adjusting valves in time... He also told me on my question what is the best fuel, that the Aral 102 or the BP 98 was the best. And for sure in Germany. Lucky me, i live next door to germany.

No 1% Ethanol in an old classic car. Shell exellium 98 does not contain Enthanol ( as they say ) . I fuel up my car with this. Price at about € 2,25 / Liter in my country. And i used to have some lead substitute in the past. But how trustworthy is it, or was it? I do not know for sure.

Nice to see there are still a lot of classic Ford lovers in the UK. 👍😎 Keep them save and alive.

Only serious oval racetrack we still have is Venray or one of the oldest in Posterholt, At Venray Limburg, The Netherlands, wich will host the F1 Stockar event coming this weekend. I am there at finals on Sunday. British drivers are there, and maybe some from other Countries. Packked with ca. 35 F1 stockars. It is short oval. But i remember the days of Baarlo long track, with banking curves. That came of an idea from visiting USA by Jack Cleas back in time. He would have somthing like that. and it did! In prime time we had up to 15.000 spectators.
-
The best longtrack oval there was in Europe. I still miss it. And did you see what happened to it? It is a shame after all.
-
Ok, but as i remember, there has been closed oval tracks in the recent years in the UK. Some dragstrips as well. There were many of them back then.
-
It does indeed. All beit that i had almost no summer vacation. Working at home. Comes slow, but comes along.. Money spend, for the best of it. 460 € stainless steel to make guard rail on stairs. 500 for laminate. Attic floor ready. Next payday, again spending money for trim and all that little to do this and that.
-
bumpin up old topic. How is the situation in the UK about quartermile racing. Dragstrips? Is it declining,? just like i know from oval racing venues. There has been more in the past. We had to close half of the few we had in Holland and nearby Germany. Due to environment politics bullshit. We had the largest oval track in Europe, closed in 1998.

2 liter ohc must still be around for cheap. But mileage and condition of engine is another story. That counts for all used old engines, even crossflow. 1600 cc is getting rare in my country Netherlands. Even the english rearaxle. But lucky me i know someone who has this axle for sale. I asked for price. Waiting for an answer.

👍 i hope no one would had a fart in it before 😄

And those are rare today. A very nice car it was and still is. I remember our V6 20 M from the same time as in the picture. Although no wagon, but 4 door sedan. I never forget the interrior smell ( as a kid crawling into the car ) when my parents bought it in a village called Susteren a car dealer as named SAM ( South in Limburg ) Good ol'times man
