  1. Easiest way to spot Lazer wheels at a glance is are by the circular casting around the bolt holes, twice as thick on Lazers.
  2. Yep, Some Capri's, Mk1 and Mk2 Escorts lots of other RWD Fords too.
  3. Too true, its your car so do what you want. I had such an original RS2000 Mk2 I just couldnt do anything to it. Sold it and put the funds into a Mk2 Mexico, not a single part original. I can do whatever I want with it. I call it Triggers Broom.😁 I love the thing, Cosworth power now.
  4. Looks nice but need more photos to give acurate guess.
  5. Nice, Black number plates look just plain wrong though.
  6. My first ever..How shal I put It.. Play with the 'Fairer Sex' was in the back of a Marina. For that reason. I have fond memories.😁
  7. I like it. I hope it drives like a Mk6 rather than a Mk2 though after all that effort.
  8. Now thats a Capri..! Love it. Well done guys.
  9. loving the RS2000. Out of interest how much is something like that to buy in Aus?
  10. My Mexico is 100% female. Been rinsing me since we met.! It started with a chance encounter and I just had to take her on. Been nothing but trouble ever since. But, just once in a while she gives me a big smile and I know it was meant to be.šŸ˜€
  11. For sound you really cant beat Gordon Murrays new T50. V12 N/A it absolutely screams. I have been licky enough to go in one. Its on another level.
  12. Looks decent enough. Probably made in China but looks a hell of a lot better than the other one. How much is it?
  13. https://www.topgear.com/car-news/retro/henry-ford-iis-one-ford-escort-rs2000-auction Would you want it more to the point.?
  14. Wrong head rests. Should be vinyl covered. Just being pedantic realy. Wouldnt pay that for it though I would love to own it.
  15. You may think you will get over the sale pretty soon. After all most people dont have a car stashed away and rarely drive it. They seem happy enough.! Believe me, once its in your blood its there. I made the mistake of selling my pride and joy RS2000 when the prices went crazy. Regreted it straight away and stll do. I got another now but still miss that car. Glad things worked out in the end. Nice car by the way.
  16. Strange because I had a replacement from burtons for my RS2000 and apart from the colour it was exactly the same as your original item. Perhaps you had an incorrectly moulded one.
  17. But how many classic cars do add up to what they are being sold as in the eyes of the DVLA. It is a case of buyer beware but if we enthusiasts cant spot a good car when we see it what hope is there. I think we can spot a good genuine car, the issue really is the DVLA have such wavy lines when it comes to registering we are all getting jumpy. So, unless the car has had one owner and spent its life in an air conditioned bubble its at risk of being labelled with a Q plate and therefore of considerably less value. and desirability The HCVA are doing their best to go ' Head to Head' with the DVLA and sort out this mess. They have made great inroads so far and are the only people really fighting our corner. The owners clubs also have a vested interest as they want to keep the breed 100% pure. So are not really helping matters. Unfortunately something that greatly effects us all has been brushed under the carpet. its only if it effect us as an individual we get involved. This owner is only involved because it effects him directly. Like most of us I have a car with many changed panels and a few non-original parts, and I’m also guilty of 'keeping my head down' and hopping it will either not happen to me or it will blow over. Its a real mess and unless its sorted out each and every one of us could be effected. So.....until further notice. 'Buyer Beware'.!
  18. How about an Imp with a motorbike engine in the back. That really would be something.
  19. Theres £300 just in the petrol cap, lights and bumper. Not sure Mrs would have it though. Shame.🤣
  20. Wow, white letters on the tyres. Very 1980's.
  21. Love that. Made me chuckle.🤣
  22. Sounds like I missed something here but reading between the lines I think I get the gist. Mate, you have always been a good active member of the forum, helped me out many times. I can totally understand your frustration, picking holes in someones car is worse than insulting your kids. I have had it myself at car shows, what the people that critisize dont appreciate is the blood sweat and tears gone into a project. I am fortunate enough to have some very good classics, I openly admit I throw money at things to get what I want. That doesnt mean I dont appreciate other peoples efforts though. I attended a car show with a very prominent figure in Classic car circles recently. His collection is one of the best in the country, its next level up. Anyway, my favourite car at the show amoungst the Bentlys and Farraris was a VW Golf, the owner was 19 years old and couldnt even afford to insure it, his Grandad drove it to the show.! The car wasnt the best there, in fact it was the worst by far. The point is it was HIS car and it was obviouse he loved it..warts and all. I spoke to him for over an hour I ended up sending him some bits I had kicking around from my VW days. He was a great lad and like us a car nut.! The point is, its not about the car its about what the car means to the owner. Sometimes we all can be a bit critical, its easy done. I have been guilty myself Im sure. Looking at your previous posts its obvious your a car nut too, we all are on here..we live and breath it. Its hardly supprising we get a bit ' iffy ' when someone doesnt like what you have done. Put it down to experience. Your a FORD fan and once its in your system it wont go away. I for one need all the advice I can get and hope you will continue to be an active member.
  23. A good friend had a Dolly Sprint back in the day. I had what was then a modern car, a Series 1 RS Turbo. The dolly was never far behind me. Then again I think by then the fact I owed more than a years wages on the RS Turbo may have tamed my right foot a bit.!
  24. Its is strange, here in the UK, if it has more than 2 doors its a 'family car'. BMW still make a 4 door M3 and have done so for a long time. The latest is 550HP but its still a family car in the eyes of us brits. I bet the 2 door outsold it 3 to1 un UK. We are a strange old bunch. My 4 door RS2000 drove better than any other Mk2 I have ever had and over the years I have had loads. Yet when I put it into auction despite the best efforts of Silverstone auctions it really never generated much interest. A few years previous I sold a nice Signal Yellow Custom for over 50k in the same auction.! It was a good car but never drove as good as the 4 Door. I miss it a bit to be honest. I did actually buy it with the full intentions of keeping it in the collection but got bored of everybody saying 'thats not a real R2000'. It did make it into Steve Saxty's book Secret Fords so I suppose thats something.
  25. Surely google could answer all of these questions.
