  5. i had similar problem with my 2 piece shafts on my english axle, the collar you throw away but the bearing width was about 24mm due to a small step on the inside edge, i went to a company called Brammer, they ordered me 2 bearing which were 20mm and solved the problem, made by skf and were less than £40 for the pair inc vat
  6. What about the thieving scum at the show stealing parts off peoples cars. I heard there were lots of non locking petrol caps taken and no doubt other hard to find items. Scarey thing is that these people are amongst us knowing the value of the bits taken, lets be honest if it was an individual wanting one they take just one
  7. i used 35mm" cable used on welders, its nice and flexible and can also handle big power and allows for voltage drop if you have to crank the engine for longer if its a sod to start
  8. do you have classic car insurance on the vehicle?? if so then call you insurance and check to see if you have glass cover, if so then tell them you screen is cracked, you will then get a nice new laminated screen fitted and gauranteed for the price of your excess. by the time you pay for someone to come and fit your second hand glass with no gaurantee if it breaks its not going to be much more expensive
  9. no doubt its a few quid you have to part with, surely its worth the cost of a plane flight or even a road trip and collect it.could be genuine but big risk. By the time the car is due to be delivered he will have withdrawn the funds and car may not turn up if it even exists
  10. so how much is entry if your not in a ford!!!

  14. my mate had a set of mk1 escort rubbers for his 2dr, well the rear qtrs will a complete shit fit and had gaps in the corners, the front and rear rubbers split after a few months, when he spoke to them he was told, "Never had any problems with them before" sounds familiar eh! he was also told that they probably were not fitted properly ], strangley enough i fitted them and have been fitting windscreens for about 15yrs but hey i guess i been doing it wrong all these years! i wouldnt touch thier products with a shitty stick from 50 paces!! more so because of thier crap after sales service

  21. the hi spec ones are far better and have a funky screw on cap, complete with bearings £65 plus vat each
  22. if you put the tray in the wheel well you then have to put spare wheel in middle of the boot which takes up more room than a battery box, why dont you get a red top gel battery and bit it under the passanger seat on its side and they give out a lot more cranking power than an acid battery and it also means your battery cable will be shorter giving less voltage drop, i use one of these but its mounted on top of the tunnel but i dont run a heater
  23. ill 2nd the Sunbeam
  24. ive seen them go for £150 upwards, check out fleabay
  25. why dont you fit them using rivnuts, and then they can be removed for a future resto!
