  2. ditto to the bottom ball joints, and dont rule out the bushes just cos they are poly, they do wear out as well
  3. if its an official dvla clamp which will be identified on the side, im pretty sure cos its a goverment department you can get into trouble for tampering with it, if its not and you cut it off then its your word against theres it was on there unless they have taken photo evidence of car with clamp fitted to it
  4. i know someone who got clamped for no tax in a private car park, it turned out they have to report it first then there has to be a certain amount of time between the reporting and it actually being clamped, worth checking before paying any money,
  5. in the parts for sale section someone is selling a 50" atlas, you can narrow these to 48 without having to buy 2 piece shafts, all you need to buy is new saddles and tramp brackets and weld them back on, you can sell you lsd english to fund a new atlas lsd unless you have a 2.8 capper one spare, i know people with 250-260 bhp escorts with atlas axles which are not FF type and not had problems its only when he went 2.5 with 325bhp he decided on FF to be on safe side
  6. Awwwwwwww he is a "POOR STUDENT" after all!!!

  9. i have a 2.0 xe in my mk2, i sent off log book with new CC and engine number, it came back with no questions
  10. 5 spokes came in fwd fitment or the new ones only come in 15s, i bought new 7x13 classic 4 spokes in white which take a std wheel nut "NEW" for £70 each
  11. thats a very long cable! wheres the engine? in the boot
  12. just a long shot as im no diesel expert, but doesnt diesel at extreme low temps get a wax type build up? maybe more so on an old car as well,??
  13. i rewired the entire front end of my mk2 escort, im running XE and also hid all the battery/starter cable and alternator wires as well, only visible wire was thew one going to the temp sender on stat housing, i also ran extra wires for spotlamps and an electric fan, all housed in conduit and hidden under the wings, i hate wiring with a passion but i was well chuffed with my results, its more of a patience thing
  14. after Mr Camerons big speech about getting country out of debt i think he was a hypocrit to even put us forward for it!!
  15. AT END OF THE DAY ITS A GAME OF FOOTBALL, STOP ALL WHINGING ABOUT IT AND GET OVER IT, SO WHAT WE DIDNT GET TO HOST IT, WE GOT THE OLYMPICS IN 2 YEARS WHAT MORE DO WE BLOODY WANT
  16. It's not about culture or who deserves it though it's about who has the best infrastructure and plan for laying on the world cup and my understanding was the the British bid was amongst the best on offer. If you compare Russia and the UK, not only do we have far more stadiums of suitable quality and size for world cup matches, they're also far closer to each other. Russia is a vast country with limited good transport networks outside and between the major cities so the numbers of people (both Russian and international) who are prepared to travel to watch each match spread across such a vast nation will be far less than there would have been here. Oh and since when was Russia part of Europe anyway? Europe got bugger all to do with the "WORLD CUP" south africa had no infra structure either but they built it, why do the british think they deserve it more than russia? its a game of football for fooks sake
  17. They deserved to host it, they have never done it before and will give thier economy a big boost and encourage people to visit the eastern block, theres a lot more culture there than this country!. South afrida had thier turn so russia was obvious choice
  18. water proof the reciever by putting a balloon over it and a cable tie, used to race one many years ago and worked a treat
  19. you will need to drill out the hole on the bottom as well, if memory is correct it is a 10x1.0mm thread
  20. i always thought a mk2 tina english was 50" wide, if you used a std width atlas it would help fill the archs a bit more, or you can shorten it from 52 to 50 and there is enough spline on shafts to trim 1" off the end and have a 50" atlas, obviously you will need to fit new saddles for the springs but it could be done on a reasonable budget and bit of know how
  21. Should of asked for an extra stitch
  22. take the threaded section from an exhaust clamp and weld it to the bumper iron pointing downwards just behind the bumper, hey presto a small disceet towing eye
  23. put a yb in and halve its value!
  24. It doesnt have to be quick! Rs1800 is the holy grail for all mk2 drivers
