antz Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 ok its not OSF but it is old! there was a deralict house in the next village from me. the house has been knocked down but i saw the remains of a car there so i went to see what i found! an old humber estate: sunbeam of some kind? and a series one landrover all of them beyond restoration and have been there for MANY years. will prob end up in the scrapper.
Admin Vista Posted April 19, 2007 Admin Report Posted April 19, 2007 I dunno I reckon that Landy could be saved, there aint much to em and the body panels wouldn't have rotted
antz Posted April 19, 2007 Author Report Posted April 19, 2007 there wasnt a lot on the landy. it was mainly the shell full of old wood. it looks like its been used as a bin. the sunbeam is in a rickety lean to shed and has no windows. the humber has no drivers door or bonnet and has had a smell interior fire at some point.
PAUL MANN Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 how did you manage to find this little lot ??
antz Posted April 19, 2007 Author Report Posted April 19, 2007 its on my way to work and my mate lived next door. the house was empty for years and they knocked it down recently allowing you to see in the driveway. so i went to go look and found them!
escortmad79 Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 Has someone been using the roof of the Humber as a trampoline?
antz Posted April 19, 2007 Author Report Posted April 19, 2007 no they just bulldozed the house so it probably got hit by a big rock

Col-ashtonmobile Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 have a look under the rapier bonnet could have twin carbs oh really!? what sort? shame the garage is VERY rickety and i darent go in it twin su's mate. be worth a few quid. shed cant go that far as the car is holding it up! or could be strombergs , a well rare set up
antz Posted April 19, 2007 Author Report Posted April 19, 2007 now youve done it! i wanna go get them! but i have to weigh this up: leave them and live...OR...possible death retrieving them and ending up with some carbs.... i dont think its worth it cos the engien could be full of anythign! and itd take ages tog et them off...and i really dont trust that shed.
escamino Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 If the lean-to is that bad, push it over!

Nettles Posted April 19, 2007 Report Posted April 19, 2007 Finder’s keepers! That landy is worth some cash. I just sold an old series two that was in not much better condition than that for £180 via ebay. If their abandon with no owners claim them. Probably best to ask for advice though first in the “ask the fuzz” room.
john_3.0s Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 you'll be fine mate, if its been up for that long it aint gonna fall down now (unless you push it!) If your bothered see if you can find some scaffold poles or fence posts knocking about to prop it up. Good luck
cortinaman Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 That Sunbeam Rapier is a Series 1. Super-rare (like hen's teeth) - mid '50s. Is the chrome trim any good?
Stu_B Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 Deffo worth the risk of getting the carbs, and that Landy has to be worth something! Do it!
antz Posted April 20, 2007 Author Report Posted April 20, 2007 i think some of the chrome trim is alright! damn my fear of fook of big spiders and creepy crawlies
Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 Antz mate, you have reminded me of a car... or what's left of it.... local to me. It is so local, it is at the bottom of next doors garden It isn't going to be one that Chris (CMPOD83) will want to see, but there is a very nasty story behind it. If anyone want's me to post pic's and the story, I don't mind. Be in for a big shock and an interesting read though
