how so???

sorry, this could be a long thread

Well, at first i was singing the new look Max's praises. But having looked at it over the last couple of issues I've come to the conclusion thats its just trying to hard to be EVO. Not only that, but instead of being a front runner in the area of modified cars its actually turned its back on the whole scene. Which seems a little odd and a little weak, to me.

Cor aint even though about max power since back in my days of no back seats so the bass box could house 4 subs and 11 million amps, and every sunday night was cruise night, drive round and round to industrial estate to asda to tescos to car park to industrial estate  tank of juice gone and nothing but the police slinging us off everywhere to show for it

Thats was back in late 90's early oo, seems a long, long time ago now.

Still makes me cring when a chavvy racer comes past with tunes pumping screwing the tits out od his 1.1 with a big bore and going nowhere, just to think me and the boys used to look and sound like that,:?:?

Oh well at least i have found the way now,:lol::lol:

 looks like last months HotRod magazine,

MaxPower where doing a good job catering to the saxo chavs, its their element, they just seem to be trying to jump on the "next new thing" bandwagon now,

theyve just had a load of VWs in there of late, becauce that seems to be flavour of the month in the mags lately.

...im sure a retro old skool issue will soon be in the works

I got the first issue of the "new look" Max power because it had an artical about red victor. The cover looked pretty impressive but I feel there is still to many adverts for sound systems and shinny bits that you would stick on your corsa.

Dont get me wrong, I have a good sound system in my car, and there is demand for ugly bodykits and spoilers, neons and spinners. But why advertise them in a magazine thats looks like it turned and trying to cater for the more "performance" type of reader?

Do's that make sense?

Its like I had picked up street machine and all the adverts were aimed at saxo's :?

I cant tell what the magazine is like as I havn't read it but It looks like they have stepped their photography up a notch from other car magazines if all the photos are like that middle pic on the previous page, that pic is amazing.

If they're really going for that much of a change they should've released under a new name too, cos they're never gonna shake of that small engined, k&N, backbox, plastic fantastic, cruise stigma!!

The mag does look good though, just checked it out at lunch!

Me and Dean were talking about this and have noticed that the "modified"car mags are featuring more old skool motors.

Maybe not osf's, but old skool motors.

MaxPower, Fast Car, Total Vauxhall and some of the jap mags are all going old skool.
