ZetecVan 2.0 Posted May 7, 2007 Report Posted May 7, 2007 I'm thinking about fitting a custom dashboard to the van. I'm torn between three options. Cortina Gauges New 'after market' gauges. Digital gauges. What do you all reckon?
Wessie Posted May 7, 2007 Report Posted May 7, 2007 autometer guages with a silver rim, against a carbon fibre dash section, its the sex
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted May 7, 2007 Author Report Posted May 7, 2007 The electonic ones - and who makes them? I found them here: http://www.zigsstreetrods.com/Pages/gau ... FordTrucks The picture is a '53 P100 pickup dash which is the same shape as the anglias. Some of the dashboards on that page are very sexy. Wessie? Carbon fiber? It's an anglia van, not a saxo.
Jay_harrier Posted May 7, 2007 Report Posted May 7, 2007 Or really high tech..... Got one of these or similar heading into my MK2 at some point
escortmad79 Posted May 7, 2007 Report Posted May 7, 2007 As the digital ones are for a 53/55 American Ford pick up are they the same width as an Anglias binacle?
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted May 7, 2007 Author Report Posted May 7, 2007 Or really high tech..... Got one of these or similar heading into my MK2 at some point Can't afford that! There are quite a lot of aftermarket all in one jobbies that are really for motorbikes, but they all look cheap.
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted May 7, 2007 Author Report Posted May 7, 2007 As the digital ones are for a 55 American Ford pick up are they the same width as an Anglias binacle? I don't think they are. There's another company that supply a billet aluminium dash. The company that do the digital ones will build them into a dash if you send them the panel to use.
Admin Vista Posted May 7, 2007 Admin Report Posted May 7, 2007 Old Skool for me, Cortina gauges. Screw the tardis, I like going back in time by opening the door to my OSF, getting in and absorbing the yesteryear feel to it.
Anglia68 Posted May 7, 2007 Report Posted May 7, 2007 My personal preference is Old Skool but I think it comes down to what sort of overall style you're after.
pimtina Posted May 7, 2007 Report Posted May 7, 2007 Anything but the digitals! They may be expensive, but I think they look cheap. But that's only my opinion.
Slik 50 Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 I have only seen digital gauges in cars that have been done over by shows like overhaulin and I think they look cool but for the van I would go for the cortina clocks as to the average Joe they will probablly think they came as standard where as the people who know a little about cars will appriciate it more if that makes sense A cool subtle change
