When i first brought the car it had no mot...so was clamped, steering locked outside my house for the week i waited for my mot.

Untill a neighbour told me she saw 2 men get into one evening and try to take the locks off - took her 2days as she didnt know it was mine...

 

if im working on it in the garage....i always get people coming down the drive and asking about it with a clear response of...'sorry its never going to be forsale' Had a bloke ask me wednesday about it when i was rigging up my compressor...

 

anyway...last night heard a crash out the back....he had tripped over my recyling boxes....so i thought it was just a fox or cats as it usually is..and went downstairs for a drink....got into the kitchen - where you can see my garage - and theres 2blokes trying to get into my garage!

 

not much good when nextdoors car is in the drive with my mondeo in front of that! unfortunately i didnt get through the 2doors in time otherwise he would of met my baseball bat!

 

im really worried now what can i do!

Some halogen PIR lighting so that it comes on when they get near your garage, and shines away from the house so it blinds them when trying to see the house.

 

Dig a hole and cover it with a bit of thin ply, so they fall down it and break their necks.

 

CCTV cameras relayed to the house.

 

 

Trip wires to set off personal attack alarms attached to the fence.

You can (could) buy security lights from B&Q that also have an alarm that you plug in somewhere in the house. So when the PIR is triggered, the alarm beeps in the house. The one we had just plugged into a power socket and the signal was sent though the power lines.

got those here, where you put a motion sensor outside with a radio transmitter, you then plug it in a socket and it beeps when it goes off. you can also plug a light or something into it so that it lights up when the alarm beeps

I also have had people come onto my drive admiring car, chatting about it but they local, their kids go to my kids school, my wife can name their wives, etc... But, I'm still not very trusting with all the tea leafing you hear about...

 

PS got PIR's and bought a garage alarm (cheap one) unpacked it and basically it was it got stamped on and chucked in the bin there and then so if I do buy another, gonna spend at least a £oner...

if it were me, id get lights and sierens up, setoff by pir sensors, and more than one of them! have like 3/4 sensors pointing at all the locations you want to cover. then have some big ass bright lights pointing all over the place too, manily so they get dazzled by them when they come on.

 

also a nice loud sieren/ alarm/ air horns would be a good idea, itl scare the shit outa them, and hopefully theyl drop down from a seizure or something. also itl alert your neighbours and you....

 

like said too, park the others cars as close as poss to the garage and each other, make it hard for them. also try leaving the car on axle stands and hide the jacks etc in the house. that way its something else they have to over come.

 

off course you could always set it up in a way that they get into the garage but then cant get out.... who knows what could happen to two theiving bastards over night locked in someones garage?

Yep the Rottweiler is always a winner and thats why i have one... nasty bitch she is too and everyone around here knows her well. Travellers hate them, which is a bonus My Capri is under her very watchful eye. Wouldnt hesitate to let her straight out on anyone on my property who are up to no good and yes she goes like a Harris Escort up my drive
