thefatcapri Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 North circular was down to one lane with massive queues just before the A1. Luckily I managed to 'sneak' as best I could ( ) up the inside and got onto the A1 and M25 as it looked like a long wait for those stuck there. I had a really good evening - thanks to everyone who came and chatted and for kind comments too. Rain didn't stop it being a great meet.

kms Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 We Had a really good nite too - parked next to the 'fat capri' - made the tina look even more of a shed than it does normally. Didn't speak to many of you - went all shy didn't I! We must have been lucky with the traffic also - hit a few roadworks but got home at a reasonable 1.30am. Looking forward to the 23rd Dec meet - what a way to start Crimbo

Jimbob-Squarepants © Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 What a night! We met JohnnyH & Flash Cadillac on the A2 and proceeded to drive to the Ace in heavy rain. Poor old Johnny had no wipers Got to the North circular and promptly stopped! After a while stop starting and almost writing the Capri off (some complete muppet in a micra) we got to the Ace! I had a bit of the 'ump so I am sorry to Maria (who had to put up with my mood there and back) and to anyone who I spoke to. Good night though with good munch, some nice cars there as usual. It was nice to meet JohnnyH and his family, Knight Rider, Capri Clive, Jason Elvy and Deuce Coupe. So we set off right at the end as the White Sierra & BMW touring entered the car park. These were the 2 cars behaving like hooligans on the road, and I thought, "If they start those fun & games in the car park, I don't want my car written off" so we left. Driving up the A406 and the heavens opened like you wouldn't believe. It was so bad, my wipers couldn't keep up, it was that bad I was driving through my side windows!!!! Got to the A1 junction and everything stopped for roadworks. 3 lanes straight down to 1, what Duff Spunk thought of that. I am sitting there and my heaters went cold and the car started to overheat. Lucily, we got through without it going right into the red! Finally got back at 1:30 in the morning - WHAT A NIGHT!!!!!!!!! Rant over & thanks for reading!
