BaileyMex Posted January 27, 2008 Report Posted January 27, 2008 I mean, dont get me wrong I love my Mex but I do hanker to build a MK2 Escort like I wanted to back in the day One of my cars was a MK2 1600 sport in black with forest arches and banded lotus steels, sounds odd but it worked, sadly i dont have any photo's lost them years ago, but this is the closest I could find on google images, but in black with NO front or rear spoiler, just the arches, back then I had to sell it before I could finish it Anyone got any more pics like this with no front or rear spoilers and forest arches NOT tarmac arches??

I've been hankering after a Mk1/2 Cortina or even a Corsair recently but it would have to have a two litre in it.

I fancy a mk2 escy but still want to keep my mk1. My lad is 12 and i am tryin to convert him to OSF. They we can both persuade the mrs to get a mk2 escy project for his first car im just greedy i suppose

Gorgeous as my old black mk1 escort was..... i always really wanted a bubble arched, 5-linked, wide wheeled track slag of a car as opposed to a fsat road car. As much as it hurt to see the black one go, i know it went to a good home (Samcos) and now i am getting nearer and nearer to my master plan of having a N/A cossie Alan Mann beastie with huge wheels etc...... Not long now! It sounds like you are bored of the "fast road" thing too?

I've had lots of those and dragging them around on a trailer to overpriced track days soon wears thin . I ended up making them all street legal as well but still flogged them after a while as you can't drive the things anywhere except around the block for 5 mins without getting a headache !!!!!!!!

Josh_gsy Posted January 27, 2008 Report Posted January 27, 2008 i DO get bored with my mainly at the moment as i cant repair due to lack of money and also i get bored because i cant just dabble with mine like i could with mini's. i kinda wish i saved money for longer and brought one in better condition so that i wasnt worried about having to do the body work. ... but when it is on the roads the looks and the driving experiience make it all worth while!

So i dont use it cos its not how i want it and its just sitting there ! Still ill be at Classic ford and when its done itll be a daily driver then life will be good .....

And sold my car bought somethink different,Sold that bought somethink else Only to buy what i had in the first place....And was never happy ect... I can honestly say, The only time recently i have been bored with my car, Was when it was of the road and things i was doing to get it back on the road was`nt working, Banging your head on brick wall woundering if its all really worth it... Throwing money at it....Is not working Should i sell it........ Buy somethink else.... Already done...Blah blah blah Well let this be a lesson to you all, Once the car you love is back on the road,And your misbehaving having fun... Try not to get to down as it will be worth it in the end.... The smells....the sounds......the feelings.....the looks.....the adrenalin...the rush..arse out on the edge i love this car feeling will be back So dont let it get you down and if you can afford it, Get it finshed as it will be worth it in the end Old ford never die,Just there owners cant afford it keep em run em or fix em... Or move on to plastics...only to come back to the PROPER cars
sparkycapri Posted January 27, 2008 Report Posted January 27, 2008 i know what you mean, i do get bored with them after a while i think its a bit to do with driving an old/modifyed car they are great at first but after a while all the things that don't work properly start to really piss you off. my way of dealing with it is stick it in the barn and get something else on the road, then may be go back to it in a few months/years but thats probably why my shed is filled with 20 odd OSF in various states of neglect!!
