Davewrc Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 Yes me too! Thanks Ford for at last doing something for us. http://www.fordracingparts.com/announce ... ews102.asp
mk14dr Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 From £840 plus P/P Does that sound cheap to anyone else...? It'll be interesting to see what can be squeezed out of one
Davewrc Posted August 22, 2010 Author Report Posted August 22, 2010 I think it's good really as it's what you pay for a shabby old ax block that needs work and will over achieve around 1800cc
Jiffer Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 just seems to take all the fun out of it for me, I quite like trying to see what I can get from my 1600, if I wanted to go 2L I think I would go camy. just me and my opinion
Admin Vista Posted August 22, 2010 Admin Report Posted August 22, 2010 From £840 plus P/P + VAT, carriage and import duties. The website listing them (and the dealers selling them) appear to be in the US. Oh and that's for the 1600, I can't see a price for the 2.0 http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/pa ... ield=12142
Mick The Cabbie Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 I'd deffo swap my Pinto habit for a 2.0 crossflow. I guess a bigger crank would also be needed to achieve 2000cc's
tim Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 they have 2 uk dealers listed on there website realsteel and power torque engeering. As this engine is being made for formula ford i guess sky ford in hemel hempsted will be able to get them as they are the only ford motorsport dealer in the uk http://www.skyford.co.uk/company-motorsport.aspx
SebringRS Posted August 22, 2010 Report Posted August 22, 2010 I can try and get a price from power torque As one of our old neightbours works there
Davewrc Posted August 23, 2010 Author Report Posted August 23, 2010 Bad news I think, sounds to me like Ford have changed it for a Lotus type block instead. Maybe someone could work out the capacity from this but I don't think its much more the 1600 with a shorter stroke. What they can be bore out to is another matter though. Dave, The M-6010-20K has been replaced by M-6010-16L (for Lotus) Details below Cost would be £1045.00+VAT Ford Racing currently has an estimated delivery date of November 2010 Regards M-6010-16K at 8.32"(Kent) M-6010-16L at 7.90 (Lotus) * Semi-finished bore diameters, 3.186" (Kent) and 3.260 (Lotus) respectfully. * Block cast from 40,000 PSI grey iron * Lower clutch housing bolt bosses reinforced * Select areas around main bearing webs strengthened * Center main will accept upper and lower crankshaft thrust bearing inserts * Lifter bore diameters of 0.565" * Includes precision cam bearing inserts installed. Davewrc Posted August 23, 2010 Author Report Posted August 23, 2010 Reading it again i'm abit confused now. The part number now ends in 16 which would suggest its 1600cc as the lotus twink was. But the bore and stroke figures are very similiar to those on there website for the 2000cc
keeh Posted August 23, 2010 Report Posted August 23, 2010 seems they may have got the numbers mixed up and not replaced the 'we are doing a 2.0l block' with a 'we are no longer doing a 2.0l block but are doing a lotus block' i want to know how thick those walls are too
escortmad79 Posted August 23, 2010 Report Posted August 23, 2010 So they're not producing the 2l after all? F**kers!! 2l xflow mk1 estate would've been epic! Looks like I'll just stick with my original plan then!
puddy Posted August 23, 2010 Report Posted August 23, 2010 I think Toby kents 1900 and something pre x flow is on an original 'L' block so it can be done on one of those blocks puddy
keeh Posted August 23, 2010 Report Posted August 23, 2010 could these be the basis of a true 200bhp n/a crossflow? combined with a good alloy head and masses of capacity there potential, definately. anybody got the lottery numbers for this weekend?
Toby Posted August 23, 2010 Report Posted August 23, 2010 I think Toby kents 1900 and something pre x flow is on an original 'L' block so it can be done on one of those blocks puddy It is mate, you are right, however a tall AX block would be better for less rod angularity. I would hope they have cast a standard height crossflow block capably of an 87mm bore - like some of the best AX blocks. These would be the ideal foundation for a big XF - mine is a compromise with issues that involved the water and oil ways. I run an 85.4mm bore iwth an 84mm stroke for 1924cc 86mm pistons would be 1950cc But a new AX block should do - 87mm Bore with an 84mm stroke - 1997cc. Even a YB-loving heathen like yourself would want one!
moredoorAsh Posted August 23, 2010 Report Posted August 23, 2010 Oooooo i'd be all over 1 of those if they were made
