Is the engine complete and is the chassis number there to eventually register it? Main issue at the moment though would be collecting it due to the current travel and tier restrictions, as I'm based in South Wales.

colr6 Posted January 12, 2021 Report Posted January 12, 2021 Think the numbers on the smaller stuff is just to determine year and model, but could be wrong
RWL81P Posted January 12, 2021 Report Posted January 12, 2021 (edited) to be fair them 2.3 vauxhall engines go well. used to be a sports hatch layed up not far from me, not there now though. never liked the droop snoot front end. prefer the aggressive look of the magnum front Edited January 12, 2021 by RWL81P 1

Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted January 14, 2021 Author Moderator Report Posted January 14, 2021 A couple of projects for Col @colr6
accord83 Posted January 14, 2021 Report Posted January 14, 2021 Oooh, behave! My old Man had an 1800 Magnum Coupe in metallic blue, it looked gorgeous. I was occasionally allowed to drive it until one day I collected it from a service on my way home from college. I was temporarily car less having written off my Mk1 Escort. There was a three lane straight on the way home so I had my foot hard to the floor straight up the middle lane showing 3 figures on the speedo, I passed one of our neighbours works vans.......... Guess who was in the passenger seat? I saw the van pull up across the road from home, I was out the back door, across the back field and gone. Ma said he'd calmed down about 10pm, I crept in about midnight to be told I was NEVER, EVER, driving his Magnum again. 1 3

colr6 Posted January 16, 2021 Report Posted January 16, 2021 Silver car is the droop snoot firenza of which only 204 were made. The estate car is known as a sports hatch ( with the snoot ) and they had a production number of 200. Which makes both of them rare cars really. As in RPs pics to see two hatches in that condition in one pic is very rare !!

That makes them way rarer than the old Twincam then! Were they all the same colour?

The hatches do have a disgusting tartan interior though which is not to my taste. 1

Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted January 16, 2021 Author Moderator Report Posted January 16, 2021 Are you sure you're not holding out on us Col? The Anglia in the background with this one has me suspicious?

Your teasing me with all these pics now, seams real that Anglia would still remain ( unless someone comes along with a fair amount of cash!) Certainly the cortina would make way for a snoot 😛 1
katana Posted January 16, 2021 Report Posted January 16, 2021 I know there are Vauxhall haters out there, as there are for most makes, but you've got to admit that, that Yellow Firenza looks as good as any mk2 RS2000 and i'd happily have it in my garage! But I also have strong feelings for a nice Chevette HSR - that would make a nice line up 1
DT36 Posted January 16, 2021 Report Posted January 16, 2021 This has got to be my favourite Chevette. Another stunning build by Retropower : 1 1
