Its sadly true. I ordered a new dash pad for a Mk2 Escort in the UK and reached the country safe and sound but upon arrival Australia Post said it conflicted with their meter maximum on length delivery rule. So they folded it in half so they would be permitted to deliver it.

LOL Well you never get to find out who actually had that bright idea at the depot but they didnt dispute what they had done and they have hundred dollar max compensation which I got but that didnt even cover the postage. It was just one of those things you look back on as a funny story. Non cracked dash pads were hard to get even back then..
