Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted February 3, 2024 Moderator Report Posted February 3, 2024 Has anyone seen or heard from Marcel @anglia58? He graciously offered me a set of door trims last year that he had and the last of mine turned to boiled cabbage on supposedly wonderful summers day we had a couple of months back. Unfortunately its been noticed at the regular meet I go too and its been mention its not quite "Tidy" enough any more and need to park with the spectators now. This was the same group that said my car wasn't European to enter in their Euro car Show lol I would even consider those Aldridge replica trims but they wont make 4 door ones even though I have begged. Unfortunately I haven't heard from Marcel in a couple of months and think he may be on his own these days so if anyone has seen or heard from him please let me know. Im really really desperate and happy to pay RS tax on any good trims even though they are Ghia type ones lol The show runner people may be a bit of an ar*e but its my only day of the week im able to get out and speak to real people these days so would really love connect with Marcel if at all possible. If anyone could pass the word along to him that I need to get in touch I would be ever so grateful. Thanks A few people seem to be fading off on the forum too lately im guessing its a winter thing where you guys store your cars away and loose a bit of enthusiasm till better weather rocks around? If your on your own for whatever reason please check in to chat about the weather or anything really always love to hear from everyone about anything! I do worry a bit when I don't hear from many of the chaps here and just saw the "Are you ok" ad on the TV to remind me to ask. Heaps of people I used to know seem to have become recluses after the virus but Its no fun on your own! 😀 1 3
Dave Knight Posted February 4, 2024 Report Posted February 4, 2024 I can’t help with your boiled cabbage seals, 🤣 but I’m regularly on here, posting mostly crap lol, always here for a chin wag. I live on my own after a disastrous divorce that’s massively bankrupted me but I’m skint but happy. 1

I even sent him a card at Christmas via snail mail but unfortunately heard nothing back so I was getting a bit worried he was ok. I do hope he is safe and well.

Money cant buy you happiness just more old Fords that frustrate you even more. 😀 1
Dave Knight Posted February 4, 2024 Report Posted February 4, 2024 Ha ha thanks and true RP. One of the plus points was getting another old Ford. 1

Dave Knight Posted February 5, 2024 Report Posted February 5, 2024 That made me laugh, what’s broken next. Guess that’s the caveat of owning said cars.

A classic Ford with a fault or two is still more interesting and gets more Kudos than a Toyota Prius (sorry to any Prius owners) 1
Dave Knight Posted February 5, 2024 Report Posted February 5, 2024 Absolutely! The best bit for me is the smiles from people and waves. Feel like the pontiff sometimes🤣 Interestingly, a good few teenage lads making a song and dance. Makes you wonder how they know. Their dads must have had one maybe. 2
Johnny Boy Posted February 5, 2024 Report Posted February 5, 2024 Yes I keep looking at the roads, to check if the salt has gone yet. Plus I live in the country, and everywhere is muddy on the roads , so I don't like that either. I'm really looking forwards to some pent up, drive it like you stole it action.😁 2

Ray Posted February 5, 2024 Report Posted February 5, 2024 the local show that i loved is no more, so mine will be transportered to 2 shows this year, the AVO national day on 7th July, and the NEC in November if the clubs get offered a stand that is so, will get their annual mileage driven in anger, on and off the transporter, mustnt overwork them lol

The car was crying out to be driven. Its not good to have them standing. Oil drains down to sump, brake seals dry out, any sludge in cooling system settles, fuel goes off, carburettor builds up deposits, tyres can develop flat spots, electrical faults start to appear and the list goes on. Whilst I can see why you want to keep it like new, the car will suffer. Go on you know you want to drive it. 😊 Edited February 5, 2024 by Vista Estate Spelling error

Im really glad you are safe an well Marcel! I didnt get that email from you (Bloody internet!) so thats also why you never got my reply. Sorry to hear you have been sick. Its not that virus going around again is it? Or is that a Winter cold thing? I forget how cold it can me there up North. Winter is a bit relief for me and it feels like a prison in Summer where you dare not go outdoors. So while you guys are locked inside to stay warm im locked inside trying to stay cool at the exact same time. Bring on Autumn and Winter. I had to even limit driving the car at night this spring and Summer so the door cards didnt shrivel more! You watch the weather gauge and if you dont see a drop in temp at dusk you have to give driving the car a miss. You have to accept more than postage parcel as I want you to be able to get something for your car in exchange. Your car is definitely special if it caused your divorce, goodness! In the old days all my friends had to get rid of their cars to avoid divorces but ended up getting divorced anyways and then said to me I should have stood ground and kept that car as they cant afford to buy back in now and wish they had a hobby these days for the weekends they are on their own. Hope you are feeling better now! Stay warm too. What sort of heating do most use over there? Do you guys use mainly gas heaters and that sort of thing?
