So, just a general request for debate, was at a car meet yesterday morning and talking to a couple of chaps who were discussing spraying carb cleaner down the carb whilst the engine is running to help 'clean' out the inside of twin carbs, one bloke swore by it, but another chap said it's all b*llocks and doesn't work.

Never tried it personally, but got me thinking, does it work/make any difference?

I have sprayed water mist down the carbs to clean the cylinder head. Alot of crap came out the exhaust....it was a fine  mist as water does not compress

I've seen a lot of videos on youtube doing this to decarbon the top end,

What about old style REDEX. You took the spark plugs out, tipped some in, let it soak in, plugs back in , start up, and tip some down the carb when running.

Best not to do it when the washing was out.

Impressive clouds of smoke and stink.😬

Can you still buy it ?

Yes you can still buy it from Halfords or Toolstation. Not as potent though but the white clouds are still impressive 👌
