Well here are the photos of the mk1 escort that the dealership have sent me via email, no it is not a mk1 escort RS2000 just classed as a normal escort on the logbook as indicated in RED, it is still classed as a 1298cc and the dealership have taken ownership of it since 01.03.2007 according to the logbook as you can see.??

So it has been for sale since then 8 months.!!

Been for sale for a very long time due to the way over priced value of £18k.

I just cannot see where the £23k has been justified.??

As you lot can imagine I am very well dissapointed indeed, it’s a shame as I did really like it. But at the price of £18k it was up for originally you would expect a near on Concourse shell etc for that and be an RS2000 Type 49 shell not a 1300 Super shell that is not even that good underneath looking at it..

As for the videos its been ragged around supermarket car parks to the extent that it put me off also.??

Like some of you have already said it is worth only around £8k-£10k max.!!!

Therefore my escos stays in my hands and i await for the right mk1 escort RS2000 with Cosworth engine and running gear etc.. to come along at the price of £16k-£18k or straight swap..

I have ford flowing around in my blood so will stick to that as the engine transplant should have been a ford crossworth engine in the beginning and not a Vauxhall hybrid thingy bob.

I would love to know how much they actualy gave for this car in the first place.?? they told me they gave the previous owner £15k on a p/x for a sports car they were selling..

Yeah right.!!!

Anyway take a look and see what you lot think as the photos close up are very dissapointing indeed.??

I have to say, it looks pretty clean to me. I still think it's expensive but many people would kill for a mk1 that clean.

Interior lets it down a little with those seats but I wouldn't knock the XE powerplant until you've tried it. It may not suit the purist but a good one built by an expert is incredibly quick. For instance, a raceengine builder up the road from me can build you a 2.4 with over 300bhp and 220lbs of torque.

it looks in very good nick from what i can see in the pic

but for that kind of money i should bloody hope so.,

it looks like my dads old escort

offer them 10k for it, tell them all the owners clubs laughed at the rpice they quoted.

Easy worth over £10,000 and probably would push £13,000+ on ebay . If someones after a tasty hot modded machine then it's right up their street . It doesn't matter weither it's an rs2000 or not because once it's been modded the RS enthusiast won't want it anyway , especially with a Vauxhall engine .

decent shell......................................... 3000

tidying up and blasting ......................... 1000

paint inside and out ............................. 4000

engine ............................................... 2000

trim/wheels etc ................................... 3000

about 13k then.. 15k tops to build the same car

At the end of the day its a standard car with a XE in it ...

Also looks like the prop let go at some point .. scars and a new prop show that .. funny i would have thought the axle would have gone first lol

was gunna mention about the prop tunnel. Looks like its snapped, and just flung around everywhere, taking the shell out with it. not too good for a 15k car.

XE's are brilliant engines. i had one in a Nova for a couple of months, and it was seriously quick, and only std.

looks nice...but i would remove the pic of the logbook for security reasons or remove the chassis number!

Agreed ,if that was my log book being displayed on the net, i wouldn't be

happy !

I think the interior would put me off the most, not nice.

puddy :D

Car is worth 10 k tops as posse said...A Good Xe all steel on throttle bodies amd ECU set ect is woth 3.5k + depending on spec,

I like it but not worh that sort of money...

And Edit the post with the log book showing bud as you never know who is looking

Looks like theirs some nice bits on it, but not enough to justify the price IMO.

God knows why they decided to put the cavalier seats in it tho :?

the prop gone and they put a new one in it. why didnt they re black the underside would have made it so much better. especally on a car thats at least 4k over priced :dope:

IMHO I wouldn't give fook-all for it

But seriously. If I was selling a motor at nearly 20 bags I'd make sure the fit and finish was sot on. It just looks unfinished and tatty to me.

I hope you find a better example m8

With your sort of budget, you could build one yourself m8, at least you'll know it's sorted

And I agree with Retro, moment I saw the pic of the underside, new single piece prop and the scars on the tunnel  ouch
