atomic punk Posted September 8, 2006 Report Posted September 8, 2006 Spent today giving the Tina some new brakes and trying to remove the legacy of past owners. I've found several strange things including: An old 10p Petrol receipts for proper 4 star fuel Some bizarre cardboard discs Pot Pourri in the ashtray an AA key (presumably for old AA boxes?) a Ratchet strap But best of all is a large, bright yellow 'Supa Value' torch found behind the radiator grille - looked like it had been there for years but when I tried it it still worked
Tom Posted September 8, 2006 Report Posted September 8, 2006 those discs are called 'round toits' keep hold of them mate i need some to help get the decorating done
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted September 8, 2006 Report Posted September 8, 2006 It's great when you find stuff. When I took the interior out of a 1960 prefect I owned (which had been in a garage since 1975) I found a Boots receipt from 1972 and a couple of old shillings.

Gibson Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 i found a large adjustable spanner in the rear arch well of a capri i stripped. it had rusted so much that it was almost part of the car...
Slik 50 Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 My mates brother bought a write off to use for spares and found someones foot wedged under the pedals. you cant be serious thats one of the sickest things i'e ever heard. and i now feel abit more ill (beer ) I used to work at Rover/Vauxhall breakers <>as a weekend job when i was younger. I found fingers and slithers of skin on a regular basis...teeth too. Chris No way, Ive worked in a breakers for the past 3 years and i have never found anything like that! O.K. there might have been a few pieces of hair stuck in the windscreen where their heads have smashed into it. Blood and snot all over the plaice but never bodyparts, forensics would have cleaned all that up on scene. We did have a 2 year old rover 25 in once that was found by the police to have a body hacked up in the boot Apparently the doris (who was driving the car at thr time) found that her husband was cheating on her so went to his girlfriends house and killed her chopped her up into bin bags and through her in the boot where the body stayed for a few days, then the doris got pulled buy the fuzz who smelt somthing wasnt right and upon further inspection found the body! Dont know how true the story was but the car boot was full of blood stains, stunk like nothing you have ever smelt before and totally dusted for prints That was theworst one I have ever delt with and we have had some bad ones
Twinkle Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 i found a watch in a mk5 tina when i stripped it to race it, mum loved it as her birthday pressie and even still wears it today nearly 12 years later CHEAPSKATE i was a poor nursing student at the time and spent my meager bursery on my 2.8 granada ghia x and the change was spent wining and dining the ladies at college, i was the only male out of a hundred students
Jimsiss Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 when my bro worked as a valeter at our local toyota garage they had a part exchange in that needed cleaning, my bro took the boot carpet out to clean it and found a wheel well full of cocaine

Paul F Posted September 9, 2006 Report Posted September 9, 2006 I found an old style ring pull when I was stripping my escort...but that's nowhere near as impressive as body parts or class a drugs!
orionmojo Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 nothing special. some old HT leads in the boot, and some old bits of speaker wire under the back seat. mym8 found a threpeny bit under the carpet of hisbeetle though. i thought thatwas a cool find as neither of us knew what it was until he asked his dad i thought that was hilarious in hindsight
Daveyboy20 Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 I was cleaning my recaros and i found a really scary passport photo stuck in one of the gaps, of a strange looking old doris who seemed to be trying to burn through to my soul everytime i looked at it.. I kept it in my ashtray and whenever someone was annoying me in the passenger seat id get her out and hold it in front of their face, it never failed to shut them up!
looney_mom Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 once found a tenner under the rear seat of a capri that I bought. Thankfully I've never found anything so gross as bodybits, though I did find 1/4oz dope once
Mr.Sumo Posted September 10, 2006 Report Posted September 10, 2006 " lost " a car for a mate once .....soppy git forgot to empty the boot before i took it .....hence i now have plenty of tools to choose from as well as God knows how much car cleaning stuff
105Nick Posted September 11, 2006 Report Posted September 11, 2006 In the glovebox of the anglia there was an old box, with a light in it red on one side, white on the other on a rubber hook with a plug and lead ... it clips on the window and plugs in the dash, so people can see its parked in the road at night rather than run in the back of it. Quite neat thing adding to the history
