So now there are two guys with no motoring journalism experience presenting it?

I'm forced to assume they're just going to try to out do all the stuff that has been done before as I don't see that either Chris Evans and especially not Matt Le Blanc, has any bona-fide motoring credibility. And no, bring wealthy enough to own a large collection of flash card does not count.

In my eyes Top Gear (as I know it) is dead and gone the BBC will try to replicate what it was before just to try make the viewing numbers up. I see they have worked the Stig into some crap on BBC1 on Saturday nights now.

I doubt they will but they need to start fresh with a completely new format, I can see it being another 5th gear.

Do you think that when they do "A star in a reasonably priced car" and the person doesn't get a fast time, Matt Le Blanc will say " seems like your always stuck in 2nd gear".   :-o

What a ridiculous signing! I like Chris Evans and with his infectious enthusiasm, the show had a chance of success but now? Some yank that likes to stick shift occasionally? Doomed!

In my opinion Top Gear is not made for car entusiasts, we simply look right through and get annoyed. It's made only as entertainment to a wider audience. Guess it's like showing a football fan a match played by actors, he'll spot all mistakes and change channal.

i remember top gear when it was a serious motoring consumer show, clarkson, hammond and may resurected it and made it what we all know and liked, it's finished now, best to just forget it and remember the good times. i won't watch it, i don't like evans, and loud americans even less.

I'll be surprised if it lasts a series. I'll watch the first one to give it a chance but if they start reviewing a new boring eurobox looking at how many MPGs it does then I'll be switching off. TG became an entertainment show that featured cars rather than a car show that featured entertainment and that's why it was so successful.

I'm looking forward to it. I hated the old format, just pandered to the chav mentality and the scripted 'acting' (for want of a better word) was cringeworthy. It needed a change and I'm glad it's coming.

I cant believe who they have gotten as their line up for the new show. Its like they set out worldwide to find the most annoying people they can. I found Chris evens brief appearance on the show as a guest he came across quite rude and full of himself. I just find it difficult to look at his ugly ginger face (a radio profession makes sense). Then you have Matt LeBlanc. By what logic is there in getting an American actor who starred as a stupid character in a show where all the other characters played idiots as well. Then they get Eddie Jordan who has the most irritating voice and manor that I cant even watch the trophy presentations on the odd occasion he does it on F1. So you have all  these rich self obsessed and incredibly irritating prats to replace a bunch of blokes who achieved their success from having a common man appeal. Seriously the BBC has lost its mind

Everything on the BBC is fcuking shit. They have been complaining for years that they are skint. This outfit should of been privatised years ago

Top gear was the only thing that I ever watched on terrestrial TV tbh!

Im sick of paying for a licence for the privilege for something we dont watch, you should be able to opt out!

Back then sheduled on Friday evening( in Holland), was my top gear evening. Loved the show, Hammond , May and Clarkson were perfect trio.

Tv gets more boring with the years to come. Loss of talent and quality
