Hi chaps.

Any one left on here still watching Wheeler Dealers...........

Will the show do as well with out  Edd....

Is Ant a good replacement.....

Personally :  I feel Mike has changed over the years, doesn't seem to have to much time for us common people  ..

I found Edd to be very hands on and interested we are all driving, I hope he does well in his new show ..

Meet Ant a while back who also comes across as being good at his job , and has passion for cars.. hope he does well.

OSF has a mention in Trading Up Episode tomorrow  on Quest 22.00 ... let me know what you think...And don't take piss  :)   :)  to much.

Happy Days..

Before we got to see the pilot of the new show, I'd come across both presenters on walk about the NEC. Seen both sides to Mike brewer, typical car salesman full of shit on the other side an arrogant up his own arse twat ( and that was a mild interpretation  ) Ant on the other hand passed him 3 times he smiled and said morning in a polite manner also to other people aswell. Ant I think will make a better spanner presenter than Edd. I won't be watching the next series unless an OSF comes up of some interest but that's it.

I have nothing against Mike, Ed or Ant and did like the show very much.......but I felt it lost its way totally when it went stateside and as it no longer appealed to me, I gave up on it.

When is the new series with Ant on and n which channel?

TBH, wheeler dealers should have died ages ago, theres only so much a show can run before it gets tiresome, like Scott, no interest now its states side, for some reason, and probably due to lack of content or an alternative, regardless of what program it is, it seems that they have to flog programs to death these days

clearly, wheeler dealers is no longer about the car as they tried to peddle in the NEC, its about the bean counters, and what they want, cheaper to put two English idiots states side and cut the technical content, than it is to put a production team this side of the pond

but agreed with Colin, Mr B is a twat, and he has been that way for some time

Ant Anstead is the new guys name , he did the series “ for the love of cars “ on channel 4 i think with Philip Glenister ( life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes ) . They restored a Mk1 Escort Mexico amongst other cars .i  Think the car was found by “ another ford club “ not rs owners though , for the show as it was an Avo car  , but they never got a mention in the credits which was bad by the shows production team seeing as the club did all the leg work so to speak for the shows research team . Looked a nice car when it was done with a few mods , at the end of the series all the cars they did went to auction ,

I quite liked "For the Love of Cars" and Ant was very competent and his workmanship first rate. When they auctioned some of their car like the Series 1 Land Rover and Delorean they broke the world record in prices so good were their results. I surprised he joined Wheeler Dealers though as they seem more geared towards making a quick buck than a decent restoration. I'm guessing "For the Love of Cars" has been cancelled then? It went for two seasons that I knew about. Shame I really enjoyed it. Ant should bring a bit of professionalism into Whealer Dealers if that's where his new TV home is.

Anything with Mike Brewer in will cause me to avoid it. He even popped up on the ITV4 coverage of the TT a few years back, and ruined it. He's like the annoying kid at school who thought he was everyones mate, and tried too hard, thereby achieving complete knobbery in everyones eyes.

I might get some flack here but I don't mind Mike Brewer. Having said that, I've never met him. Ed China started to get on my nerves TBH and think he had more help with the cars than was lead to believe. Ant anstead seems a nice chap and I am lead to believe he is one of the most respected mechanics/car restorers in the world, but might be wrong. As for wheeler dealers, I like it. Once you get it out of your head about the profits they make as they are just (showing you if you are mechanically minded how to make money on cars).

I liked it stateside too as I like to see how any car starts and ends up. It's well known Mike Brewer and Ed China have had a bust up over the way the program has gone, that's why Ant is taking over. I will enjoy it with him, and seeing the odd clip shows him really going into detail of how things work.

Everyone to their own, the thing that got me about Edd is he is the only mechanic who diagnosed a problem correctly every time, what a mirical man !! Back in the real world if you study the programmes through out there are a lot more parts go on them than disclosed. As for profit margins there ain't non ! They are on someone elses payroll cos they've bankrupted their own.

if you look at the credits, Paul Brackley was his main advice, hes the one that drove the yellow mercedes van when mike needed trailering home, and was the odd workshop helper, he wasn't involved with the last series though

however, if you look at the series where the workshop was based in more town than country and had the green sliding doors, and has a Torrent 500 in there, I'm led to believe, by the man that supplied that torrent, that is the back of one of Eds garages, where there were 2 sides, filming side and the other side was a proper garage full of mechanics, just what I was told, but the torrent rep had no reason to lie

Get Leepu and Bernie on the case, Jag brakes out of a skip? Cheap? They'll fit lovely! Filler applied with an Ian Botham action, better still. Proper spanner men straight from Chuckle Brother Apprenticeship College. :-D

Tim Westwood can fit cossie bumpers to a capri and lights like a fairground ride! everybody likes a 50 odd year old in a tracksuit, jimmy savile was popular!

I forgot Tim Westwood, what's not to like about a middle class, track suit wearing, 60yr old white male, son of a Bishop, who talks in Jamaican style street patois and was the inspiration for Ali G, bringing Barry Boy car culture to a TV near you? Genius TV comedy gold.
