Must have been the day for it, my Focus ST got hit in the car park at work yesterday as well, some young proby scratched all down the side on it trying to get his car out of a space, and then HE DROVE OFF!!!! Needless to say, I found out who it was, and will be having a word with him about his legal responsibilites!!!!!

Stu_B Posted March 3, 2007 Report Posted March 3, 2007 Thats shit mate!! About a year ago I came back from the pub to find police and a smashed up car on its side about a metre from the back of my cortina, which was on a drive!! That pissed me off enough - you must be gutted!
ZetecVan 2.0 Posted March 3, 2007 Report Posted March 3, 2007 Needless to say, I found out who it was, and will be having a word with him about his legal responsibilites!!!!! is that police speak for 'give him a good kicking?' Sorry to hear about your van and capri, Clive. Hope it all gets sorted. I wouldn't want to see a Mk1 Capri scrapped.
yellowperil Posted March 3, 2007 Report Posted March 3, 2007 Man that's shit hope it gets sorted and the car and van are fixable, that's the tenth accident i've heard about since yesterday afternoon.. have to admit sounds like he was lucky there was a crowd...
Admin Vista Posted March 3, 2007 Admin Report Posted March 3, 2007 Sorry to hear that mate. The capri doesn't look too bad, I'm sure it's fixable, but be prepared for his insurance company to tell you "it's only an old capri and therefore not worth tuppence happeny!" ignorant twats most of them have no idea of classic values.
sab6024 Posted March 3, 2007 Report Posted March 3, 2007 OMG I hope you get it all sorted. I hope the Capper can be repaired. I cried like a baby when some t**t drove up the back of my Capper a couple years ago. Claimed for everything including stress because the garage kept f***ing up the repair work.

capriclive Posted March 3, 2007 Author Report Posted March 3, 2007 thanks for all the support guys. just totally gutted. van is deffo a write off. suspension bent, chassis rail / bulkhead damaged screen cracked.drivers door wont open properly.rad, engine pushed back. totally beyond repair. capri rear panel pushed in about 7 inches. front wing, valance, headlight, bumper etc fooked. possibly repairable. will be keeping it anyway. will be seeing driver responsible tomorrow for insurance details and quite possibly a word or two. got to have a look at a couple of vans tomorrow as cant do much work without one as im mobile mechanic.
scrouge2005 Posted March 3, 2007 Report Posted March 3, 2007 the capri would be easy to sort if u buy wessies shell with the fibreglass front he only wants 125 for it complete. mayb something good could come out of it........apart from killing the cok who whacked it lol.
crapichris Posted March 4, 2007 Report Posted March 4, 2007 absolutely sick - as a Mk1 owner to another I can't start to tell you how gutted I am. Don't let them write her off - Mk1's are very thin on the ground now, if you do you probably won't find another. I suspect you will need a new crossmember, slam panel, inner and outer wing. I believe John at Capri Club has quite a few body bits off a scrap Mk1's - give him a call
S2 Dee Posted March 4, 2007 Report Posted March 4, 2007 Christ mate what a t***er he was. I hope you get it all sorted, hopefully you will get a van and back to work soon.
