You see one at a show every now and then but they are nicked from elsewhere. New Zealand most likely!
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted November 19, 2019 Author Moderator Report Posted November 19, 2019 Its pretty amazing what cars people abandon. Quiz -Can you name these forgotten classics? (1) (2) (3) (4) (4) (5) (6) (7) (8) (9) (10)
Admin Vista Posted November 19, 2019 Admin Report Posted November 19, 2019 Yes, except no 10. Fiat / Lancia maybe? Oh and in no7, I assumed you are referring to the ride on mower rather than the 924? 😁

Number 10 was meant to be harder than the others, couldn't have a cake walk after all.
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted November 19, 2019 Author Moderator Report Posted November 19, 2019 @Vista And as extra penance you have to name the other car in Picture 2. Ohhhhhhhhhh Darn it, beat me again!

katana Posted November 20, 2019 Report Posted November 20, 2019 1. Porsche 912, 2. Ferrari 250 GTO, 3. Lamborghini Muira S (with the worst 'added on' bumper ever!), 4. Porsche 911 SC, 5. Aston Martin Lagonda, 6. Ferrari 246 Dino, 7. Porsche 924, 8. Jensen Interceptor, 9. Corvette Stingray Split Window 63?, 10. Something Italian - But there is a Austin Mini Cooper behind LOL!

Number 1 has a bit taller roofline than a 912 though and not as sleek a fastback profile as a 912. The Corvette is indeed a 63 (impressed you can name the year!). Looks like a Roller abandoned behind the Mini too! Number 10 isnt Italian though. 22 hours ago, Vista said: Yes, except no 10. Fiat / Lancia maybe? Did you have to look it up? 14 hours ago, notenoughtime said: 10 is a mgb gt convertible Its not Birtish either but it tries to trick you that it may be. 4 hours ago, Vista said: No 10 is a Datsun Fairlady More known as the Datsun 1600 / 2000 Roadster but sometimes called the Fairlady in markets outside Japan like Australia. It was Japans 60s attempt at the British roadster decades before they tried again with the MX-5. It did make you all think though wondering if it was Italian or British! 3 hours ago, Vista said: Wow, I didn't notice that bumper. You're right though, what were they thinking?? Maybe that was the a good enough reason you would abandon a Lamborghini Muira? Quite a few familiar faces in that batch next lot will be harder!

They only made two of those for the James Bond Film "You only live Twice" (My favourite bond film) all the rest were hard tops and even then only a few hundred of them. But in a way you are right I would take a hard top version of the Toyota over the Datto any day. It has an E type look about it. But they are on two different levels. The Datsun 2000 Roadsters were cheap in comparison and available in the tens of thousands. A Japanese Triumph. And just so we don't stray too far off topic.

Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted November 22, 2019 Author Moderator Report Posted November 22, 2019 Clearly the sleek lines of a Ford. OSF maybe?

The story being this property was owned by an elderly lady and the council received a complaint and were forced to bring in the specialist chainsaws for some serious vegetation clearance. Well maybe not that specialised but when it was all cut back it revealed a car that the lady had no idea was even there! And it was ........ An Escort!!! Oh Well not an OSF but close. 1982 Estate. You never know what you may find if you don't mow your lawns! (A Capri was a good guess though they seem the most abandoned OSF of all)
