I looked at it and it seem different to how I had seen them online never having seen a Mk3 Estate in real life but couldn't figure out what make it look different. I quite like it. 1
meXEco Posted November 23, 2019 Report Posted November 23, 2019 I guess most were 4 doors yes you just don't seem to see the 2 door variants much anymore-i quite like them.
Munch Posted November 23, 2019 Report Posted November 23, 2019 Who'd of thought that a car was under there! It looks in good condition considering.

Munch Posted November 23, 2019 Report Posted November 23, 2019 What brings a person to leave cars of any description to rot let alone ones like that? Madness. They need to be tracked down and sent to prison!
eeb43 Posted November 23, 2019 Report Posted November 23, 2019 not abandoned dumped or forgotten just moved into a different shed! put the tr3 in front of it 1

katana Posted November 24, 2019 Report Posted November 24, 2019 Looking at the state of the timber i'm guessing an old barn just gave up the will to live! The cars don't look in bad condition so either weather washed the dust off or they ain't been there so long - flat tyres excepted. You see this often in the US, its car collector heaven but if the owner dies with no family / or no interested family, land just sits till this happens and then everyone gets excited about old Uncle Zeek's car collection! Some of the stuff Wayne Carini tracks down is amazing and in places you wouldn't store a lawnmower!

Some of the stuff Wayne Carini tracks down is amazing and in places you wouldn't store a lawnmower! They are pretty grubby rather than dusty so my guess is that the storm that blew the place down probably washed the dry stuff off. Those timbers are just wet rot at the base. I suspect this is exactly one of those hidden US car collectors you mentioned, if you look closely at the front of the silver Ferrari you see another Ferrari red car with the outline of a prancing horse decal on its front guard. So there are more than three there that's for sure. All placed in a rotten unsound barn, surely Uncle Zeek could have splurged out on a tin shed for this lot.
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted November 25, 2019 Author Moderator Report Posted November 25, 2019 Someone will have to explain this one to me. Sacrificing only the white Cosworths? This is some kind of strange religious cult right? Just look at the eerie farmhouse in the woods.

stephens_xpack Posted November 26, 2019 Report Posted November 26, 2019 It is utter madness what some people leave to rot or even forget that they are there? The silver tourer Ferrari is a great looking car. and the white Escort and Sierra cossies above, just WTF? Lets not just ruin one, but how about 8. There maybe some reasonng behind it all, but not sure I could ever work it out. Have them in bits, have them off the road, but FFS keep them covered and dry.......... Oh well, only cars at the end of the day...... 1

Oh well, only cars at the end of the day...... The best way to put a stop to these white supremacists is team up with a rival gang. So im going with the Coloured Cosworth Culling Cult known as the 4C's. We are a small chapter and no match for the whiteys so may have to build an alliance with the Greys but they are pretty hard core. Jokes aside is there some kind of conspiracy going on here? Is this maybe a hoarding thing to drive up prices and make a windfall down the track?
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted November 26, 2019 Author Moderator Report Posted November 26, 2019 Ahhhhhh I discovered a bit of further information. Both the White and the Grey Cossies are from the one and the same hoard. They are in a property in Sweden known and the "Cosworth Graveyard". There is no complete indication what he is actually doing with them although there is a suggestion he does sell parts off some of the damaged beyond repair ones and possibly even fully restored cars are put up for sale. So this is more likely a preservation business rather than a destruction one.
katana Posted November 26, 2019 Report Posted November 26, 2019 The man was obviously fairly shrewd! Bought loads when prices were still affordable - now, good clean low miles cossies are north of £75k+ looks like easy half million in stock . . . . . . money in the bank! 1

I wish I had stocked up on Mk1 Capris that you could get a for a few hundred bucks at one stage here and Twincams when they cost a few thousand. I once turned down a pristine V12 E type for the equivalent of 7 thousand quid cause I had no idea what to do with it. Clearly you do nothing with it just store it away till the market goes crazy!
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted November 27, 2019 Author Moderator Report Posted November 27, 2019 I think some of you may need to clear out your workshops more often. (I like the car stand on the car rather than under it)

The V12's were never really popular and most were auto's so have always been 'cheaper' s/hand and remain so - relatively speaking! A V12 XJS on the other hand - mucho desirable!

katana Posted November 28, 2019 Report Posted November 28, 2019 Just watched an episode of Kindig Customs and they did a 63 Boat Tail Split Window Corvette which highlighted a confusion I had with this one in your quiz . . . . And its the triple tail lights - all the 63 images I could find only had dual lights, including that on the show - i'm confused!
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted November 28, 2019 Author Moderator Report Posted November 28, 2019 @katana I double checked the details on the car attached to the image when you first said it was a 63 and it definitely said it was a 63. There are other cars with triple lights too. But there was some information that may shed light on it in the caption with the car in the last two pictures said this ............................. "1963 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray split window, California Special coupe - California Custom option ( Backup Lamp Code ) with the extra 2 tail lights installed at a California dealership prior to customer delivery" It seems to suggest that triple lights may have been a dealership option.
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted November 28, 2019 Author Moderator Report Posted November 28, 2019 The caption with this one also reads - "A gorgeous and super-rare 1963 Chevrolet Corvette StingRay Split-Window Coupe" There is a 72 Corvette T top Stingray in my family so I could ask about it for you with a club enthusiast. Speaking to those particular in-laws will cost you though, I will have to endure a day of snide remarks and put downs about the toy cars that I drive. I got so sick of it I didn't visit for 5 years!
