Looked fabulous at the end though. Tragic story about his son. Was a bit choked up myself listening to it.

"I pretty much wanted to keep it as original as possible". Twin carbs battery in the boot and the RS manifold gone ..... woops!

At the start when they were listing the major things it needed doing and they seem to list the carpets as a major thing which I thought weird but then it all suddenly made sense when they went to see the carpets being made, that was interesting to see.

He didn't seem too stunned though so Im sure he noticed it miss from the garage in all that time or was told.

The son deserves the car more though but im sure that will happen in time if im not very much mistaken.

yeh there recent mk1 was brilliant to watch ,pity the engine builder didnt do a gr8 job ,he didnt even lap in the valves on a freshly built engine  shoddy work ,

the sos boys did a lovely job on it, id ave been like a dog wiv 2 dicks, it was a rusty bugger though.

Yeah he didnt seem that excited to me at all really but some people are naturally stoic and hide their emotions, especially if you know your on camera on the Emmerdale set with the actors right there with you!

@Vista Should love the forthcoming episode 4 as its also a car he likes, a VW Corrado.

Agreed, he did seem a bit underwhelmed, BUT......

When his son said to him right at the end "so when can I drive it" he did give him a look as if to say 'you can fookin jog on' 😁

I meant more like the Rear 1/4 panels, A & B posts etc, they looked like chocolate cornflakes

Wonder it they cut out and welded in metal, or just bit the bullet and stuck on all new panels - the latter I would have hoped

Bit late to the party having just watched the episode LOL But by god, that was rough and for a late registration as well, but I suppose if the guy did use it as a daily driver, the wear and tear was inevitable! I can't imagine much was patched - that was major panel replacement time! The guy was saying he'd like to keep the originality - oh yeah twin 45's, a 4-2-1 manifold and system is going to help there LOL! And how had the carpets got soaked when its been in a garage for twenty + years? I personally loved the cars I had with 'microwave doors' in the roof, none of mine leaked and with cars not having AC, they were a god send for decent ventilation, so I would have been pissed if mine had gone missing without asking! Still, it turned out nice, another one saved but it certainly wasn't a couple of weeks work, no matter how hard they got a wriggle on!

Actually the seal around the sunroof looked like the only thing that did seal on that car but they instantly blamed the moist carpet on that! The rust holes on the bulkhead, around the windscreens and in the pillars had nothing to do with the leaks instead? I think Fuzz is just a staunch sunroof hater he used that as an excuse to get rid of it. Love them or hate them I dont think you should get rid of it without asking. Mind you there was no surprise with this one I think that he knew all along. It wasnt hard to tell it was missing from the garage for the months it took to do the job. Im sure having it restored was enough to overlook the original bits they took off it.
