Come on everyone, dust off those wallets and spend less than you do on a wheelnut sold through Ebay with the Ford tax.

We need to see more of you this year as it's our 16th year at the NEC and the clubs 21st birthday 🎂 🥳

Like flogging a dead horse mate unfortunately.

The NEC is without doubt the biggest show any of you will go to. It is a cracking day out, and although not cheap, I think is good value for what you get. You won't see a bigger selection of cool cars anywhere else, auto jumble, stalls, talks, restoration demos, you name it they have it.

Get yourself to the show on either the Friday Saturday or Sunday and pop in and say hello to the lads showing their cars and flying flag for OldSkoolFord.

Sales pitch of the year !
How inviting…
👌

unfortunately it is like flogging a dead horse, we go through this every year, we put our heart and souls into this show, to put on a good stand and keep the NEC organisers happy, and the club members just snub it, and as a result the show organisers then give us a hard time because we arent selling tickets, it can be soul destroying tbh, you think its an expensive day out ?, it averagely it costs me over £1200 a year of my own money to put on this show, which at first was fine, as its an enjoyable show to do, but as the total club dis interest goes on, it gives you second thoughts as to whether to bother next year

True @Ray. Both you and @stephens_xpack along with many others have put in an awful lot of work. I joined the clan 2 years ago and can vouch for Ray's comments about how much work it is starting in June. This year the organisers made it harder, even stopping RetroFord Magazine from promoting the show with us. But you can't keep a good gang down 👍.

We need your support. As Kellye said its a great day out for the money. I heat you say its expensive but I bet you don't think twice about blowing £50 to £100 on a Saturday night.

So come on, stop whingeing and support us this year. Yes we enjoy it but it does cost us time and money.

We have new cars on stand this year with a couple of changes now.  Vista Estate is being replaced with Mk1 Cortina 1500GT and newbie Rog is bringing his Mk2 RS2000.

These will be alongside Malcolm Wilsons first rally car (owned by Neil), a stunning Alan Mann Replica (owned by Ian) and a fantastic Mk3 Cortina (owned by Paul).

Remember the discount code is CCCNOV5846!

Get your wallets out you miserable buggers! 🤣

Ditto, third year on the bounce. Great auto jumble, you won’t see cars like this at any Classic Car show you may attend. Yes it might not be cheap, but you have a full year to save up. Make a weekend of it. I’ll be there Friday, I’ll buy you a glass hammer from the auto jumble. Come on, stop looking under the bed for lost sleep you tight bastards 🤣🤣

Hi guys

Firstly, sterling effort from you lads for keeping this going, and appreciate it cost a bomb to organise and noting the stress involved in getting this done each year.
I remember from the hay day of OSF when we were putting on CF Show stands with over 100 cars before the days of people simply using pay pal, we were getting cheques in the post and all sorts, so feel your pain.

Have you asked Scott to advertise and promote this on (spit) OSF social media platforms? That could generate ticket sales if pitched right, if anything, it might keep the NEC happy with a few more ticket sales. - I'm not a social media lover, but let's be honest, everyone is on it and the target audience could be big once people start sharing the post and discount code

Just a thought.

We are kind of damned if we do and damned if we don't on this Colin. In the past the guys have had complaints that our club discount code has been made available to the public at large.

That's true @Vista.

The little darlings at the NEC like to tie us in knots then complain against low ticket sales.

As it stands I would sooner now ask for forgiveness than permission if a post on this site accidentally goes onto a public forum. What do you think @Rayand @stephens_xpack?

they relaxed the rules last year, up to then, the code had to be totally hidden from public view, as i understand the rules now, the code can be posted here or on osf FB page publicy, as long as long as the page/forum its posted on, is blatently old skool ford, so for example on here, its fine, providing you do not put any link or name to another site or company other than the NEC in your post, so you must not mention tretro ford or any OSF sponsors for example, but your not allowed to put it on your personal fb page, or someone elses page like retro ford or a sponsor

absolutely crazy tbh, because that can be seen publicly, so what the hell difference it makes where you put it i dont really know, something to do with the commercial advertising i believe

they could stop all the problems by just reducing the door price, but its all about tying you up to advertise the show in the name of giving the stand space for free

And dont forget, if some of our sponsors are reading this, insurance company sponsors MUST NOT come onto the stand wearing your logo'd clothing and/or punt for business, or discuss business on the stand, that is now totally banned, to punt for or talk insurance business at this show, you must have and pay for your own stand and keep that to your stand only, your no longer permitted to go around the show advertising your company

I think most people buy tickets a week or so before the show. I wouldn't stress about it, we've hardly sold any in the AVO club (which is normally the case at this stage). Those moaning emails are auto-generated I think.

So is Alison just an AI programme that can be deleted? 🤔 🤣🤣
