  1. no, thats because angleboxes were and still arent good enough to be related to AVO, thats a serious mod that one Colin, and theres me thinking you would never fit a superior escort part to your anglebox

    Pork pies

when i was younger, all the family holidays were in devon or cornwall, and there used to be many a shop selling cornish pasties and refering to them on the signs as tiddy oggies, and for years my parents, uncles and aunts etc used to refer to them as that back in essex

    Pork pies

are they still known as tiddy oggies in Cornwall Scott, (not sure ive spelt it right)
  4. thats because they went out in sympathy for the anglebox
  5. dont be reeled in by his northern humour, he thinks hes funny, just sit back and have the last laugh, you own an escort not an anglebox
  6. yeah, then some barsteward comes and dumps an anglebox in the back, then the scrappy wont even take it
  7. mk1 AVO bootlids have additional badge holes in them
  8. and dont forget we lost grandma Royle this christmas as well

  11. look on flea bay for mk1 escort switches, you will find a man in poland, user name is something like makormosa, bad spelling lol, he re furbishes the chorome on the switches as part of it, he has a u tube video of the chroming method as well, had my switches done by him and really good

    mot Exempt

i rest my case at the fact you are aware that you need the roll cage, FIA seats and 6 point harnesses, as you are clearly aware the body would disintegrate around them lol, so you need something to protect you

    mot Exempt

i was under the impression from a local mot tester, that most insurance companies were now insisting on an mot for pre 60s cars so that they knew what they were insuring was safe to be on the road my opinion is, that anything pre 60 should have a very stringent test, ensuring the car is like new, followed by 2 annual checks, that are more like a std mot, and then every 3rd a stringent one again, the in between could be extended, but to more than 5 years, and if it misses one in between, then the system starts again all angle boxes to be scrapped on site, as going to the shows, the only original part seems to be the body, then they fit high powered running gear, and in the event of an accident, would the body seriously hold up, answer, i doubt it, unsafe car, scrap it and anything like it
  14. ive yet to see a braided hose fit properly like an original, most even have the incorrect fittings and the main pipe has to be cut and new ends fitted to suit the braided one junk junk junk all the way
  15. so what your saying Colin is, its no longer an anglebox, or an old skool ford, its a kit car really then lol
  16. do it to a std model, and fine, no argument colin, its a modification i just feel that there are certain models that should be left as original as possible i also accept that when iy comes to the likes of an anglebox, no one feels that its worth replicating parts to original spec, so any old junk that fits will do lol
  17. its not a modification Colin, its insulting and ruining a histotic national treasure
  18. i have to agree theres plenty of standard Escorts to do it to, that it would increase their value as well, but do it to an unmolested Mex, you are ruining what is a special fairly rare and valuble car, and in my opinion de valuing it, not increasing it on the up side i suppose, the more of you that do it to unmolested special cars, the more it raises the value on the remaining ones
  19. sorry it was a sarcastic reply, look at how you worded your post and youll see why
  20. FORD
  21. nyloc replaced split pin method donkeys years ago, used to be the case that one use and throw away, not sure these days, but whenever you buy a lower arm, track rod end or anything these days, it comes with a new nyloc nut, so assume its still the case but not for the likes of me who want that originality, also found that you can generally only get nylocs in metric unless you can find them at specialist fastener places, have found limited amounts on e-bay in UNF, most repro parts have been converted to metric to accomodate
  22. if it were me, i would take Vistas friendly hint, and remove whatever you have posted on this drivertube thing, as its obviously not OSF approved
  23. most important is either tracing the owner or getting the DVLA to issue a V5 when you are not the owner and apply for a V5, the dvla write to the registered keeper asking them if thats correct, if he or someone on his behalf says no, then you cannot register it Are you still looking at a year to get the car released from the compound im not worried about the model, more the fact that i can legally register and own it, as without that certainty, no money can be spent on restoration
  24. LOL thats funny
  25. that said it looks very GHIA, and has some GHIA trim would make a good GHIA looky likey
