people always look suprised when i tell them im actually going to drive my car when its done..

is that wrong, im sorry i just cant spend 18 months working on it only to drive it on sunny sundays

i understand theres risk of damaging it etc but surely if its driven with respect and routinely maintained it will last

i understand ppl trailering their show cars about cuz they are 'for show'

and if some muppet bashes there door up it or bumps it well thats just tough aint it... could happen to your 60k porsche

My Capri was my daily driver until I realised I'd put more miles on it in the first 2 years of owning it than the other 22 years put together. I still keep it roadworthy so i can take it out whenever.

Hell yeah!! i use the Supercharged beast everyday, regardless of weather etc. she does me proud!

i feel guilty sometimes for not having a 2nd sh!t heap to abuse, but im a student and cant afford 2 cars. so i run the capri, 230 miles from uni to home at holiday times, and around portsmouth when at uni the rest of the time. it gets abused and raced all the time and takes the punishment well, it would be an offence not to take advantage of the blown pinto wouldnt it?!

mine gets used everyday  I've had it a year in a week and in that time i've done about 10k length and breadth of the country.

Its taken me from leeds to london to pick up 2doors (i had to take the front seats out at the side of the road to fit them in) all with the original 1.1 and 4speed box ('box has since died).

Its sat outside in the work carpark for 12hrs at a time in all weathers. The way i see it is, if i look after it now its more than people did when they were new, which is why they got a reputation for tin-worm.

and its been nicked, bumped, scratched and abused. OSF :ykt:

I use mine most days. Just use the people carrier when shifting big loads around. Cars were made to drive so you gotta get out there and drive it.
