Doc Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 What V6 shoudl i get for the x pack over the winter
Fiesta Steve Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 I voted 24v as it looks good even if they aren't that fast. It is a cheap conversion though, and will remain totally drivable.
mk14dr Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 /\/\/\ what he said /\/\/\ Resto-mod is the way forward, looking stock(ish ) but with modern running gear. I voted Cosworth V6, although another option is the cos' V6 on carbs or maybe ive never seen it done cause it cant be done (or do you like a challenge?)
Admin Vista Posted September 9, 2007 Admin Report Posted September 9, 2007 Cossie works for me too Here's one in a local mk3 And Hellblue's minty install in his mk2 cortina
capriaddict Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 Save up and have the 3.4 essex on triple webers (dont forget to buy shares in BP)
Duke3s Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 Im goint to have to go with the 3.1 Essex!
QuadCamCapri Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 I voted Cosworth 24V, as much as I like the Essex spending big money on one doesn't make much sense cost wise when you can plug the 24V in for a cheap 200bhp. They can also be made to look old skool, carb's dizzy etc. see mine in pic below. The Essex in my race car is all steel and not what you would call cheap, for the billet steel Farndon GAA crank you would be looking at the best part of £3k!
Burns Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 i voted cossie, cos it's decent power and you can save the money for the fuel bills
dyt397c Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 3.1 essex. my mate had a 3.1 in his capri and with 70bhp nitrous ran 13.01 on the strip!
Doc Posted September 9, 2007 Author Report Posted September 9, 2007 If it is'nt broke don't fix it doc
ann_capri Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 put a v8 in their doc its straigt fowared and ligther and a bit more power
bronze4door Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 i would have to say cossie aswell
Arched Escy Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 i think the essex would suit your car
Guest MK1gaz Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 Cossie V6 but skip that plastic shite thing on the top of it and fit triple webers
SAMMYBOY Posted September 10, 2007 Report Posted September 10, 2007 U want me to see if the guy still has that complete Motd Scorpio mate????? Go on!!!!!
stephens_xpack Posted September 10, 2007 Report Posted September 10, 2007 If you can get more speed for less money from a cossie then it's worth looking into. Does the cossie sound like the essex or close? if so then cossie seems like a good idea. Whats wrong with what you got? Or you just bored... Still love your car.
Doc Posted September 11, 2007 Author Report Posted September 11, 2007 U want me to see if the guy still has that complete Motd Scorpio mate?????Go on!!!!! yes mate !
RFChris Posted September 11, 2007 Report Posted September 11, 2007 Having recently been in one i say 3.4. Expensive? Yup. Thirsty? Yup. Really expansive? Yup. Fooking mind blowingly tuneful and quick? Yup in-fooking-deedy! And a bit different too!
