BIGKEV Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Alton towers meet - camping and a bbq for a weekend - superb - we could hire out a campsite !
bomber1 Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 i reckon if retro car show is'nt going to happern anymore i reckon that would be a start .its at santa pod jamie I'm liking the own show idea but how about something a but futher west for a change, I travel hundreds of miles each way to all the shows I attend so how about something nearer the Bristol end of the M4? Plus if you're interested in a stand at a good all w/e show that has camping with all the facilities (important ones being beer tent & entertainment) I'd recommend Powderham Castle show near Exeter in early July. It was huge last year. what about a run to the sun ie ace cafe 2 newquay cornwall
john_3.0s Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Three ideas spring to mind... 1) an auto test champtionship? we could run it on grass so as not to kill the cars too badly... OR... 2) run down to le mans or just an OSF holiday somewhere like south of france / spain etc in the summer (in the cars of course).... OR... 3) get a couple of teams together for the lawnmower racing season http://www.blmra.co.uk like the idea of "OSF the movie"
over_head_cam Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 I like the charity run idea. Good publicity for the site and money raised for good causes. AND it'll be a good excuse to convoy (we love a convoy )
Twinkle Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 how about an around the coast relay for charity? did one last year for the coastguard for a charity got loads of publicity and lots of sponserhip money for the charity

V8ian Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 I like the charity run idea. Good publicity for the site and money raised for good causes. AND it'll be a good excuse to convoy (we love a convoy ) Im not normally a charity person, but I know a few of you have seen Big Ron Haslitts mk3 Cortina Estate do a few Passes up at the CF Day, all that day Ron was collecting for MacMillan Cancer Trust, all that weekend, I know he even managed to auction a ride in his cortina that day, Ron has had and beaten the disease twice, and recently, as in last week was diagnosed again having Cancer somwhere in his head, I think he is having surgury this week, I know everybody on this site would wish him well and a speedy and total recovery, If a Charity run was organised I personally think MacMillans would be a correct cause to support, if only for Rons wish to suppoert the Charity.
