Aaaaah yes Ron Harris JNR's sunset red mk1 escort is one of my favourite ever oldskoolfords for sure :ykt: . Especially with the potent screaming x-flow and the lotus steels on it , fooooooking magic

Yeah lovely car - got pinto-ed (they are a ford derived OHC engine Gaz) then never saw it again untill it was in the classifieds  - and sold. Does anyone know if it got to see the 1/4 in pinto spec. Times?

Kev - your mate "Tgafronk" - catchy user name!!

F~ Steve, you're welcome - do you want me to post the other pages? It sounds like you know the engine well anyway, I guess it went to the sky did it? :?

Post it if you like m8 but I think I know the spec anyway, I think that was the version with the 272 that wasn't so good and believe he used something milder in the 13.09 all steel engine.

I spoke to Dave recently, he lives just down the road from me, I never asked him what happened to the bottom end but as you said John 'Bunman' has the head and I believe the car may still be around too even if its not on the road.

Well kev ive now seen it with my own eyes in the other room, mk1 garyetta. Fastest cross dresser in south london :ykt::lol::lol::lol::lol:

And note the below thread so this is now the 2nd time he has mentioned his fondness for womens clothing

http://www.oldskoolford.co.uk/phpBB2/vi ... c&start=75

Could it be some strange form of weight saving a frock being lighter than mens clothing? or perhaps a better feel for the clutch through those Stilettos?:lol::lol::lol:

Easy now bitches !!!!!!!! Anyway back to the performance talk and Petrolhead01 (Tonys 100E) and it's 12.9 sec 1/4 mile on street tyres without assitance from any gas . It's been mentioned to me that this run took place at Avon Park and not at the Pod so it's now not only unofficial , it doesn't count anyway !!!!!!!! . Therefore the Fastest 3 ever (that we know of so far) oldskoolford N.A. 4 cylinder cars running in a fully street legal condition and without gas are Dave College mk2 escort 2.3 mountune duratec with 13.0 secs , Dean Watt mk2 escort "Tango" 2 litre W.P.E. atmo cossie 13.1 secs and Darran Moss mk2 escort 2.2 H.T. pinto in 13.2 secs . These i'm sure are the fastest ones so far so well done fellas :ykt::worship:

And one for Mr Puddy from Retro Mag in November of a few years ago - the cover doesn't say but early 90's I guess.

He ran 14.24 at Bruntingthorpe for this article, quotes having run 13.67 at Pod with 285 bhp, "As we went to press Mark was heading for Avon Park to get into the 12 second bracket"

Awesome car mate!!:thumbsup::thumbsup: (and even better now)

I don't know if you ever broke into the 12's in this incarnation of your car, and if you didn't, it adds fuel to the "we ARE going faster now than we were then".

Cheers toby,no i didn't run a 12, I ran 13.0 @113 mph with 120kgs of

ballast in the boot on street rubber .

what are there best et gaz? so we can see how fast they are :ykt:
As DarrenM says their times are on the previous page but 13.0 secs is the fastest  . Remember this is with no gas and in a fully M.O.T.able and street legal condition at the time so no slicks  That's very very fast and you'll notice that they're all normal looking escorts in proper unmolested bodyshells (so no silly 2 foot wide back tyres etc)

DarrenM , can you post up some pics of your V8 12 sec comfy street car capri so people know what it looks like ? I've got no pics of it to post up only a video on a DVD i bought from Halfords

Load of old shit Darren's and billy's car have no interior gaz  Your arse is awake before you today
I know their all stripped out BUT they're still road legal at the time

These 3 are the fastest PROPER COMFY N.A. 4 cylinder oldskoolfords at the Pod without gas and in a road legal state at the time i think . Ron Harris Jnr mk1 escort Harris pinto in 13.6 secs (or thereabouts as was a few years ago and can't remember exactly  ) , Tony Simpsom mk1 escort Harris pinto in 13.8 secs and Richard Harrison Anglia 105E Harris pinto in 13.9 secs :thumbsup:untitled109-1.jpgIMG_1129.jpgsunbeamandtonysmk1037.jpg
