Guest MK1gaz Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 Been trawling my time slips for you Gaz , with my street legal N.A. 4 pot (pre-crossflow), M.O.T. bits on it at the time,exhaust , wipers , brakes, heater, carpet, (no rear seats but a roll cage is probably heavier), windows, winder mech, alternator etc etc I ran...... 13.79 on Yoko 032 ss @ 100.2 mph (end of 2004) on a long 1st dog box. And 13.65 on Yoko 048 @ 96.96 mph (03/09/06) on a shorter 1st deffinately with the exhaust on in both cases. Cheers Toby . Well after 50 pages i've discovered what i knew anyway !!!!!!!!! Not many cars with a 4 cylinder N.A. engine (without gas) in a fully street legal at the time of the run oldskoolford at santa pod can go faster than 13.5 secs . Nothings gone faster than 13.0 secs and all the comfy road cars with no bits missing/lightened etc have ever gone faster than 13.6 secs . Nearly all the fastest street legal cars at santa pod hardly ever go faster than 100mph at the finish line with most of them around the 96-100mph area

Guest cortmk2 Posted January 21, 2008 Report Posted January 21, 2008 Hello everyone just to clear something up my name is billy clarke and i own "tango" orange MK2 atmo cossie i run 13.07 at retro show with M.O.T and 1755013 YOKOHAMA road tyres got trophy in my bedroom for winnig class C, I also run a 12.6401 at 105.91mph at pod on slicks and some bits missing. i know this dont match andys or jayson times but im just letting u lot know gaz im still waiting at the mad mile

Both have pintos and both are uncatchable up the 1/4 mile UNLESS you have a little blue friend in the boot , 8 cylinders with 5 litres , a turbo or a jet engine on the roof !!!!!!!!!!

DarrenM Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 Smiffy and Hippy have both had 170 in MK1 Escorts and Terry Davies 180 in his MK2 which is incredible when you think it does a 10.0 1/4 as well! All three had problems on their runs so are capable of faster times, can't wait!

Id like to see an atmo escort get to those speeds

And he said is very hairy. . . .and was only in 5th for a few seconds But with the gearing he has. . . . . Would love to find out what its max would be
DarrenM Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 What's the fastest top speed without a turbo/gas then ? I had 151.7 mph at Brunters with a 3.09 diff and tallish tyres. It accelerated OK up to 140 ish then I put it in 5th and it just crept up and was still accelerating according to the graph on the lap top. It's silly gearing, it'll do 95mph @ 2500 rpm! I'll try a 3.44 when I put the running gear in the MK1 Capri so it should push towards 160 then!
