mk2Griff looks to have had a terminal engine failure on the way home and I had a few dodgy moments in traffic with the temperature climbing towards the red. Got home and found my Kenlowe isn't working so am amazed I made it there and back without incident, especially in this heat.

Ultimate horror story has to be that lovely yb converted mk1 Mex that went up in flames though. Not sure I could cope with that happening to a newly finished project.

left early fet sh.t got about 4 miles out of pod and the bl..dy rear exhaust mount decided to break had to bungie strap to hold it up and its still holding it up good old strap, sorry to hear all the other problems peeps had,BUT IN ALL GREAT DAY WELL DONE TO EVERYONE INVOLVED,:thumbsup:

My only problem was my fuel gauge gave up and read 1.5 tanks of fuel for over 360 miles  The needle went past full and off the other end of the gauge so I had to use my mathematics skills of when I last filled the car and how many miles I can do until I need to stop for fuel again.

Other than that the car performed perfectly

No problems for me considering I was having electrical problems on the Friday. However the Mk1 German Fire Tranny was having a serious misfire on the A1 on the way home. We were doing 40mph up hills.

On the plus side because of the slow speeds, I managed to get home on a tankful and averaged about 28 to the gallon!

Where were you hiding? Didn't see you or the car on Sunday.

Antz's car was in the back row near the OSF marquee. Unfortunately our limited space meant we had to park them in two rows with front row priority given to those that wanted to get their cars out on the strip. Sadly it meant that those on the rear rows didn't get the attention their cars and efforts deserved.

I was parked to the left of the osf marquee third car along on the back row. between my dads mk1 and ian1300s green mk2 escort

As Vista said its a shame the layout was restricted due to some people being rude and taking 1/2 the space of our stand and it resulted to everyone parking like a Morrisons carpark and some of the cars on the back row didnt get as much attention....for instance Ian1300s gorgeous green mk2 escort next to mine.

Hopefully next year we can get a long line going again and a better place for the stand

Well my mex (on its original engine over 100,000) ran like a dream as usual, but hubby Dean's capri had terrible running probs on the way home... still changing bits now to fix it. Had to keep pulling off with lack of power and then rejoin the motorway  police were very nice to us (a 1st) and we at least we managed to nurse it back slowly

My heart goes out to that blike and his MK1, I'd be mortified

Leaking rear hub seal AGAIN  (Big time this time) whining front wheel bearing, and pinking for some reason, apart from that, faultless!!

I really feel for the guy with the fire damage :(:( , heart wrenching

there seems to have been loads of breakdowns either on the way there or back ... our convoy included.. a tow car whose head gasket went and another car who got a puncture ..BUT nothing compares to the mk1 escort.

I got goosebumps when i saw the pic... how gutted the owner must be and i think we all sympathise with him/her

On a better note... The weekend was FAB !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks to all involved in arranging it again ..roll on 2010 :ykt:
