Is it just me that thinks its acceptable to ask for car parts for Christmas?

I've got plenty of socks, no I don't want any slippers, no I don't want a novelty Xmas jumper that plays jingle bells and lights up, but car parts are always welcome.😁

Over the years I've had all sorts, Interior Trim, Springalex Steering wheel, new door cards, floor mats

Anyone else got any OSF goodies coming from the big fella in red?

Got a 6t hydraulic press off the Missus, already assembled as I had to check if it worked.  Kids have chipped in to get me a reciprocating cordless saw. :-)

TOOLS!!!! can't forget the tools, I'm getting a new Dewalt drill and battery combo as well, I'd forgotten about that.

Good afternoon all,

Allow me to add my contribution to this topic.    In my opinion it is perfectly acceptable to request car parts, tools and or garage paraphernalia from the aforementioned  big fella  in red, at this time of year.  Therefore I am due to receive a new de Walt cordless drill (5ah batteries of course), a new de Walt angle grinder and finally,  I am informed that if I am a very good boy a set of three of the beautiful cam cover filler caps (direct from Santa Barbara, California) for my various twin cam, cam cover collection.

Given that my wife's birthday is on Christmas Eve, this is likely to be an even deal !  Amongst other items including a bottle of extremely expensive perfume, she will also receive a Karcher window vacuum cleaning device (I guess I'll be the one to use that anyway)

Hope everyone has a quality Christmas.

Don’t suppose you could call this a Chrissy present………….

I got a text off one of my lads saying, head gasket/ bolts/ cam belt/ oil and filter will be coming to you before Christmas 🤔🤔🤔🤔 thought the crossflow don’t need them 🤔🤔🤔🤔

second text……when can you fit them, anytime after Christmas dinner will do !!!!

So you lot getting nice things, all I get is more work.

Have a good Christmas chaps.
Hope you drill through a pipe with your cordless drills, your body panels are for the wrong car and your hydraulic press isn’t strong enough for its first job

Best wishes Col.

My Christmas present to myself, is a new ultra light flywheel and upgraded clutch for the MK1 Cortina.

Same company, £100 cheaper including post and import, to buy from the USA.😁

Its perfectly acceptable. Some of the gifts I get are astounding! I know it seems ungrateful but I swear my family don't know me at all. I go round spouting off how evil google is collecting every bit of information they can about us practically every day and last year I was given both a Google Home Mini and a Google Chromecast streaming device. They are still in their box! I cant even regift as that would make me a hypocrite allowing a bugging device in someone else's home! LOL I beg and plead not to be given anything out of fear of the money being wasted but it goes on deaf ears. Even just a card would be nice. To cover all bases though I left a print out of a page from the local speedshop on the table. Not very subtle I know but I was getting desperate and having google shop nightmares again.

Ok well the subtle hint worked a treat as I got the new XR700 Electronic ignition module I wanted for the Mk2! Yay!

I was a bit disturbed by the warning label on the side however? Should we all be switching back too points if thats the case? 🤔

To be fair Eeb, your relatives take one look at your back yard and a sea of cars and parts and go what the hell in car parts could I possibly buy him! That said if that was your selection your welcome to pick out my next gift for me!

Loving the idea of the heated gillet. Mine's just a Dickies brand, not as Gucci as yours 👌

Had some bits delivered today. Rotating seat base for the VW Van and some 20mm hubcentric spacers for the Ford Mondog.

I do have a Type 9 gearbox saddle bush that I need to fit to the Mk2 this week though, so not being neglected.

The hardest thing is deciding what I should tell you and what not to...
