I know it’s a tad early but, any tips on winter storage for an unheated garage, specifically the cover. Tried doing a search but couldn’t find anything.

I have seen suggestions about semi-tailored breathable covers?
I had nothing on the car last year and noted the considerable amount of condensation accumulating on the roof, etc….

I have an unheated shed and I use a nice soft cover that goes all the way to the floor all round and then a breathable waterproof cover on top to stop drips from the roof and then under the car I use two dimple tube radiator heaters ,because the sheet goes to the floor it seals the heat in and just keeps it slightly warmer works a treat Dave

Thanks James, sounds like a plan.

I take it you’re running a flex from somewhere to power the heat?

Do you have any condensation forming on the car under the sheets?

No condensation make sure the sheets go to the floor , then if you stick your head under there when it’s warmed up you can tell the difference ,it feels aired ,luckily I have electric in there ,the dimplex tube heaters cost 2p a day to run

Always late to the conversation but I'm in the same boat/garage/shed this year, my current thoughts are to try one of the storage bubbles that constantly draws air through in combination with a dehumidifier, I'm lucky that its a brick built garage & hopefully won't see big changes in temperature + I'm also putting those granule packs inside the car to try to catch any condensation.

I do like the idea of those heaters....

In other years I had one of those Clark portable garages & used a good quality outdoor cover, the car did ok but some suspension bits & the gearbox casting picked up some orange spots, not the end of the world but it did show how much the temps did vary.

Again, probably too late, but I've had these in various places when storing the Mex, they chuck out a good amount of heat, and you can control them via an APP, or simply cut our the Wi-Fi relay and hardwire onto a timer

What is this Winter Storage thing of which you speak? Isnt that the only time you can come out into the light safely without being fried in excessive cancer causing UV radiation that peels both your paint and your skin off with temperatures so high it makes your vinyl trims crinkle up like cabbages? 🥵 or dont you have that there?

My garage is brick, built  between other garages, however it has no power though, another added problem.  Just need to find a power source. The tube heaters would be perfect.

Like fresh water falling naturally from the sky without the dog licking its lips watching you measure out your ration from bottles? Man there is no pleasing some people! 😜

You share your beer with your dog James? Epic! I hope you wipe the bottle neck, I've seen where they lick🤮

Just get it on tap mate with a hose nozzle straight into the dogs bowl. Works with the roses too when there are water restrictions saves having to put manure on them as well!  😃

James, apparently it works on the roots of roses when filtered through your kidneys too, but it definitely kills the foliage on small ornamental firs, my Old Man nearly shot Our Kids mastiff for that!

I don't have a heater but have used a dehumidifier for the last 10 years and it keeps the garage dry. It runs permanently and has a drain tube to outside. Seems pretty effective.
