Hi, this is my first post as a new member of OSF.

I have a 73 Mexico that I am looking to fit a set of twin 40 Webers. to, the car has the long tower servo arrangement that I would like to retain. I am after some advice and potentially a part to suit.
I was wondering which inlet manifold I would need to use, I have heard the short manifold from a 1.3 x-flow, but I’m not sure if that’s correct and if so how do you identify it as being correct.

cheers

Hi Carl,

welcome along.

i don’t have any answers for you, but I’ll follow along as this is an upgrade I’d like to do to my mk2.

Welcome to OSF Carl!

Fortunately mine is an earlier Mex with the servo on the right hand side so my 40's sit sweet. But pretty sure I've seen loads of people anfle the servo tower down a bit? Might need a bit it fettling, but I'm sure that's an option.

I've always wanted to have a go on a single 45 on a Lynx manifold for some reason.

I had a single 45 on a lynx manifold on my second mk2 rs that I bought of a German guy while I was in BAOR in the late 80s. The pinto had a piper 285 cam and a single box janspeed system. I drove it back to the UK to have the carb set up on a rolling road in some place in Shropshire, they did a great job and it drove so much better.

Nice, what was the verdict on the single 45 set up?

Thanks for sending those through. Very nice looking Mk1.
how long ago did you own it.

I owned from 2004 to 2010, had to sell due to personal circumstances unfortunately, it was one of the last Mk1 Mexico’s built, it was ‘P’ reg having been built in December 1974 and registered in September 1975.

@ Johhnyboy. That is LHD or RHD trouble of it. But always a way to go around it. For sure no crossflow Kent 😄 Looks like Zetc.

Rhd South African van. I think the front panel is different to the UK ones, as I had to cut a clearance hole in the front panel , or the brake master cylinder would not go down low enough.

The SA front panel has bulges into the engine by both sides of the radiator.

there is always an option  to reso;lve a problem if you are handy with this all. You could get a  baised pedal box intstead. without a brake servo
