flyingbanana Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 so are you a perfectionist when you do work to your osf? i try to be but sometimes don't all ways work the way i want it
orionmojo Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 my answer is no. i try so hard to be, but i dont have the skills, so i largely leave it alone, and then get depressed when i cant make it look nice! if i could paint the thing theres no doubt it'd have been in pieces long before now. just to save myself though, i dont bodge things, not by any stretch of the imagination, but if i touch something it has to be perfect before i'm happy, hence the leaving it alone!
Dom Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 I'm a mechanical man more than a bodywork man, all the plates on my car are black hammerite, including one wheel arch. If it looks alright then it'll do, if it looks alright and makes the car perform better, then bonus!
Nettles Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 I’m the worst type of perfectionist……………………a skint one!
S2 Dee Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 I try to be but often talent runs out before perfection is achieved.
escort21 Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 I run my osf every day so perfection is difficult as it takes time and monday is always to close
slimrs Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 as everyone else says i think, just havent got the skills to get it perfect but have to have a go
J_mk1 Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 all i can say is i certainly work to my own level of standards and thats all i know
Twinkle Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 considering theresa's mk2 was supposed to be a quick tidy the engine bay and its taken me 3 months to get it so im happy i would say im a perfectionist, especially as i keep picking fault with it
PAUL MANN Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 the trouble is perfection can come at a price
huxmk1estate Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 i am, thats why my mk1 isnt fooking done yet!!!! but it will be ace when its finished
petrolhead01 Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 im definatly a perfectionist and when i get the car perfect i will be happy untill then im not happy!!!!
louie bagel Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 i consider myself a perfectionist and i'll never be happy with my tawny mk1 untill its spot on, but like most of us its a case of money and skill but we will get there in the end
Jarrodm Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 I'm deffinatly not a perfectionist, but I WILL NOT bodge anything, If a job needs doing it is done once, and it is done right ! I don't think theres a single car out there thats perfect. Becouse a perfect car would be such a contradiction of peoples opinions and ideas that it would amount to looking shite !!!! So no i'm not a perfectionist........50 50 vote is interesting though. Jarrod
Arched Escy Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 I want everything to be perfect but it never is.
MK II Mark Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 Perfection is a case of how much you wanna spend. I would never have enough money.
Guest cortinamad-gonetoo Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 no i get it to the best im capable of always like it to look its best body works my downside oh and oil leaks how do you keep the engine bay so clean and dry theres always a oil leak somewhere usually rocker gasket even with a new one fitted
Rick Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 i started off as one but im getting a bit impatient now cuz i dont wana be restoring this car forever. lets face it you can go crazy with trying to get every tiny spec right. i voted yes on the poll though as i couldnt live with anything poorly done, as long as it falls between 90-100% perfect im happy
andrewg1323 Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 i do my best but i usually find i lack the correct tools most of the time so out comes the hammer...
