Stu_B Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 I owuld dearly love to see (but it is 100% guaranteed I won't) the words bought and brought never mixed up again and this list of words used properly (at least sometimes to show some effort has been made ) Your, you're, there, their, they're. I dunno what your on about?! Their all the same aren't they? My G/F brought a dictionary the other day. I'll have a look later & see if your right...
Boreham Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 You know what I'd like to see in forums? I'll tell you anyway People who don't insist the owners/admin/mods should change the rules to suit them People who can 'play nice' with everyone else People not getting all arsey when things don't go their way People who realise that everyone that runs the forums have lives too with jobs and families etc People whos main diet isn't sour grapes People who will help anyone, not just their mates. People who don't slag others off all the time behind their backs and not have the balls to be open about it People not coming on just to tell everyone about how they are or how they've done and then fooking off again until the next time they do something super-fantastic. (I would include those that would come and post alongside just to bolster their egos too) I'd like to see People not complaining that something doesn't work on a forum, when clearly they are the only ones with the problem It would be nice to see a forum where those that have been reminded of rules and forum etiquette (often not just general, but specific to the forum) not sulking and claiming they've been picked on What would be good is if those that don't like the forum would just not post And actually just not visit at all I'd like to see people waiting patiently for the PHPBB3 I would really like to see people not quoting peoples posts with pictures in, especially directly after the pic has been posted - I CAN FOOKIN SEE IT ALREADY!! I owuld dearly love to see (but it is 100% guaranteed I won't) the words bought and brought never mixed up again and this list of words used properly (at least sometimes to show some effort has been made ) Your, you're, there, their, they're. That's all I can think of to whinge about at the moment, I'm sure there will be more though that's everybody covered so... shouldn't have quoted...as ye read it already...

Jiffer Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 Oh yeah and WTF is phpb3? Any relation to C3PO? i was thinking that as well. with regards to the main question this is the only forum i've ever used, i did go looking for some others but with little or no success, there was a post on here about one called sesame street but i just kept getting big bird so gave up.
redrocket Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 OT: but i suppose technically you could run phpbb3 on 3cpo, just need to find the right base os  netbsd anyone? This forum runs on phpbb2, its forum software phpbb3 is the next version of the software, more/better features. Just like windows 98 is old software, and windows xp/vista/7 is newer software and you might consider using the newer software for it's new features/security/useability. How-ever just cause the software is newer and better doesnt mean the transition from your old software will go smoothly or even work on the new setup, hence you get stuck on the old software (unless you ask for help with the upgrade )
RossMK2 Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 you've lost me then again it really doesn't take much
Mr.Sumo Posted September 26, 2009 Report Posted September 26, 2009 you've lost me then again it really doesn't take much That makes 2 of us
MM77 Posted September 27, 2009 Report Posted September 27, 2009 you've lost me then again it really doesn't take much In OSF terms, this forum is currently running with a xflow (phpbb2). It will soon be running with a YB (phpbb3). But as you'd expect when changing engines, there will be complications. So these complications need to be thought through first. In other words, expect OSF to be running better and smoother at some, as yet, undetermined point in the future
Mr2Caps Posted September 27, 2009 Report Posted September 27, 2009 Can you put a forum on a rolling road? Thought it might help? Are we currently running carbs or throttle bodies?
MM77 Posted September 27, 2009 Report Posted September 27, 2009 Can you put a forum on a rolling road? Thought it might help? Are we currently running carbs or throttle bodies? Now come on, dont be silly. It would have to be a rolling laptop:
