buzzard Posted April 15, 2016 Report Posted April 15, 2016 About time we had a Cortina amongst all these 70's Escorts Not seen Crome kens car for years. . He s gone all the way now . A bit far for me though
puddy Posted April 17, 2016 Report Posted April 17, 2016 Ahhhhhhhhhhhh , The Beast . Rememberseeing that at Lakeside cruise back in the day , I did not even realise it was based on a Capri ! Mind you ,with a Rolls Royce merlin engine under the bonnet it was hardly surprising . puddy 1
HotRodMatt Posted April 17, 2016 Report Posted April 17, 2016 This was the first version that led to the court case. The car resides in Spain now though does appear in the UK occasionally. And I think it's a Meteor engine not a Merlin, as the Merlin was never designed to run a transmission.
Admin Vista Posted April 17, 2016 Author Admin Report Posted April 17, 2016 Looks very different now though 1
colr6 Posted April 17, 2016 Report Posted April 17, 2016 Certainly not like a good wine that improves with age! 1
Admin Vista Posted April 17, 2016 Author Admin Report Posted April 17, 2016 Certainly not like a good wine that improves with age! Front end kinda reminds me of Blinky, the three eyed fish from the Simpsons!
accord83 Posted April 17, 2016 Report Posted April 17, 2016 You'd still roll it, 27 litres? Of course you would, and mash the loud pedal like a King
colr6 Posted April 17, 2016 Report Posted April 17, 2016 Front end kinda reminds me of Blinky, the three eyed fish from the Simpsons!Or a fuzzy monster even donning the recent topic of colour ORANGE!
colr6 Posted April 17, 2016 Report Posted April 17, 2016 Just looking at the changes made, rear quarter from Reliant kitten/ scimitar?
colr6 Posted April 17, 2016 Report Posted April 17, 2016 A fitting place to end up being fibreglass joining the rest of the gob!
Moderator Rally Pack 2000 Posted April 17, 2016 Moderator Report Posted April 17, 2016 Looks very different now though That belongs in the Adults Only Section, you can scare the kids with that............................... and the dog.
weepeeps Posted April 17, 2016 Report Posted April 17, 2016 Yeah that's the one, the second pictures, not sure about it being pink lol. I remember that each of the sidepipes had white heat cut out of them! So cool for an impressionable 17 yr old with his first cortina mk2 that cost him a whole £70! I so wanted to make mine something special, and to me I did. Rostyle wheels with general grabber tyres, thrush hush box on my gt system, spot lamps, red light on the standard axle! Lancia front seats, air horns and the loudest radio cassette I could afford so probably about a tenner! Registration KTT497E, I will never forget my first car. Thrush hush box ?!?! Is that the 70s version of caneston combi?
Admin Vista Posted April 24, 2016 Author Admin Report Posted April 24, 2016 Confess that I quite lik this Van conversion, except maybe the flames. Do you know this one JP?
JP. Posted April 24, 2016 Report Posted April 24, 2016 Ill fresh up your memory.... page 12 mate http://www.oldskoolford.co.uk/ipb/index.php?/topic/80258-distastefully-modified-old-skool-fords-show-us-your-worst/page-12
Admin Vista Posted April 24, 2016 Author Admin Report Posted April 24, 2016 Ah yes. In my defence, that was over a year ago and I normally dismiss most of what happened the previous week as no longer required. That raised roofline in the pics you posted isn't so attractive. Better without the flames though.
mrusedcarguy Posted April 24, 2016 Report Posted April 24, 2016 Gotta be honest I kinda like that Capri van.
colr6 Posted April 24, 2016 Report Posted April 24, 2016 Does look quite good from some angles, not many though
Danish Posted April 25, 2016 Report Posted April 25, 2016 Does look quite good from some angles, not many though I think if they'd kept the roof line level it might have looked quite good.
colr6 Posted April 25, 2016 Report Posted April 25, 2016 I think if they'd kept the roof line level it might have looked quite good. Or just left as a Capri with arches and wheels on!
puddy Posted April 27, 2016 Report Posted April 27, 2016 Looks like it could be an Aussie Capr-ute ,very sort after ............ puddy
accord83 Posted June 9, 2016 Report Posted June 9, 2016 ^^^ Well thanks for ruining my day, I'm going to need a lie down to remove the queasiness now. how many beers fueled the design of that Fiesta.............
