Pbsmk2 Posted February 2, 2020 Report Posted February 2, 2020 Hi All, ive been thinking about posting this for a while now, ever wondered where your old school Ford is now? Chances are, mine have been scrapped. but you never know...... my first car , mk2 escort 2dr pop plus in powder blue OSU156P, I ran it into the bacK of a metro. a “friend “ had a dad who was a panel beater was going to sort it for me, never saw him or the car again. mk2 2 dr SUD613T in silver, sold it to a guy I used to work with mk2 2 dr BWD13T, unfinished project. 2.0 pinto, type 9 box, rollcage, gave up and sold it to Ian Harwood. As I said, probably all scrapped by now, but you never know.... cheers Phil
RWL81P Posted February 2, 2020 Report Posted February 2, 2020 well i dont know if anyone on here owns my old rs2000 CVL243T. it was yellow and is is on dvla tax thing as blue now. i bought it around 98/99. run it around for a while and did a bit of weekend rallying around my local quarry. i stripped the car bare and sold the shell and book to a guy in croydon. interior for my mexico. and the running gear went into my mates car which was an unwelded 2 door auto, calypso green with black vinyl roof JFE66T.
accord83 Posted February 2, 2020 Report Posted February 2, 2020 My first car was a 1200 Super Anglia, I never did find out what was Super about it, sold it for £75 before I either, fell through the floor, or, got asbestosis from all the filler in it. I cut up my first Mk1 Escort with a meat cleaver and a big hammer after being hit amidships by a double decker bus, it was easier to scrap that way and my old man wouldn't let me use his gas axe. The engine kept a Mk2 Cortina alive for a further 40,000, any other salvageable bits went into a Mk1 van. I never remember reg numbers, that's why I have personalised plates, 'cos I'm thick!
colr6 Posted February 2, 2020 Report Posted February 2, 2020 Pointless me listing mine, I KNOW what happened to them 🤭🤭🤭🤭
katana Posted February 2, 2020 Report Posted February 2, 2020 Often thought what happened to my first RS2000 - WPL 715S after I chopped it in for a '68 Cooper 'S'. Just checked on the DVLA database and last change on the V5 was 2017 and its SORN'd so its either still about or its just a paper ID! Wonder if its anyone on here?
reggio68 Posted February 2, 2020 Report Posted February 2, 2020 HYT995K Mk1 Escort 1300, I think it's scrapped, shame loved that car

Admin Vista Posted February 4, 2020 Admin Report Posted February 4, 2020 There were other classic fords before this but here's the one I regretted selling the minute it drove off with its new owner. It's a 3.0 GXL I purchased part restored in 1994, it was painted and allegedly ready for reassembly but the paint job was pretty poor and had suffered microblister. Stripped the paint off to find it needed more remedial works underneath the paint. I had it on the road by 97 with a good spec 3.1 litre Essex from a local engine builder and eventually sold it in 2003. It's a shame I hadn't found this forum by then as if I had, I woukd probably still own it now. 1 1
katana Posted February 4, 2020 Report Posted February 4, 2020 A Capri with a boot is a proper Capri - none of this hatchback nonsense! Fake leather, fake wood and fake steel LOL! 1

Fake leather, fake wood and fake steel LOL! Well it had fake wood (being a GXL) and fake leather (scald your skin vinyl) but thankfully all the fake steel was cut out of it and replaced during the restoration.
