Respray costs

So I am just finishing watching Mike and Elvis convert a LHD LWB mk1 Transit on Wheeler Dealers, looks like they made a really nice job of it too.....

But come the end where they total up the costs they claim a figure of £930 to respray a LWB Transit. Ok, it was exterior only....but £930, really? 

Me? Think I'd have swapped out the 2.0 V4 for a 3.0V6 too.

I took my Mondeo ST for MOT today and the guy offered me a rough 220ST for £400.  Actually not a bad price for a 3.0v6 and had a decent Recaro interior. Rest of the car was hanging though.

sounds ridiculously cheap materials would be more than that!! or are they using emulsion!

The programme has always been shit, and the figures have always been made up to draw the casuals in.

Cant stand that bellend Brewer, how he is still on TV is beyond me.

True, he's worn out several decent co-presenters to the point they've walked....I can only imagine the behind-the-scenes conversations.

Not that I EVER watch it of course....🤫

Well it must have been cheap as my mrs who does not have too much renovation prowess said " can't believe they resprayed that whole van for that much"! I always love the end bit when some phantom figures are thrown up, usually not showing the obvious new tyres and brakes fitted.............still it kills an hour, or even less if you record it and skip the ads!

Only part watched one many years ago, listening to Mike Brewer made me turn it off. I remember the year he popped up presenting ITV4? Isle of Man TT, he ruined it, he was like the annoying kid who wanted to be in the gang but tried too hard and just annoyed. Jane Omorogbe was on the same programmes and she came across as an informed reporter and a knowledgeable biker, knowing when to stf when the racers and ex racers were taking.

I watched a program with brewer in once for about 20 mins before he got on my tits, he bought a 2cv or something from some doris an spoke to her like a stereotypical car dealer would talk to a stereotypical blonde doris, put me right off the smarmy ****. 

Never been tempted to watch him again

Its the same with all TV car resto shows. If they actually showed what really happened it would be great for us but boring for the other 95% of the viewing public.

I had a bit to do with Richard Hammonds one currently showing. Its really all smoke and mirrors but thats how they have to do it.

Not defending any of them but I do watch them and 'read between the lines'.

Richard Hammonds place is only across town from me. Some of the sky, BT an British gas engineers been to his place. Apparently he's quite "different" to his TV personality, an not in a good way ☹️
