So I have seen on another forum that the age restriction for cars this year has now been raised to 1996, so that now means Mk6 escorts, Mk4 Fiesta's, Mondeo's, Ka's etc. are able to be shown on club stands.

Now I'm not a hardcore old skooler but I think this is a step to far, I have always been on the side of having a full show instead of strictly sticking to age limits and having a empty show but when ever has there been any issue filling Classic Ford with Classis Fords, if the show was failing with poor attendance then I can understand shaking it up but from my experience there is always a reserve list for stand passes on here and the other forums I go on.

Lets hope the clubs police there own stands with what cars are going on them to preserve the sprit of Classic ford as it seams the organiser's aren't interested

Classic Ford should stay Classic and not be turned into another Ford Fair or Ford Fest.

When reading this, me and my wife both said, this is not a good thing to happen. This step to 1996 is way to big.

So a car must be at least 20 years old in 2016 to attend the show.

I hope it's not the start of a down turn for the classic ford show the car park is full of wicked motors there it's always worth having a walk around to have a look, I can see people will not go if loads of newer fords are there

I can see Mondeos, KAs, and Mk4 Fiestas in most towns on a normal day, why would I want to pay to look at them? I thought the CF show reflected the cars in the mag? I know they have FWD stuff in there already (hence why I don't buy it) but this is a bit much. It'll be just like the other Ford shows.

I think you have hit the nail on the head Money, i'm guessing the revenue is swinging towards these shows rather than publications.

Im not totally apposed to opening up the show as I appreciate most things ford it just needs to be done in the right way.

I'm sorry to say, it isn't a rumour it's official.

If you wish to attend Classic Ford Show as part of a club, you can book your stand tickets online. Club stands must have a minimum of five cars. Club bookings are subject to space availability and we reserve the right to close entry before the closing date.

All car club entries must be classic Ford models circa 20 years and older (pre 1996).

I was planning to come after giving the 2015 one a miss. 2014's was sooo not worth £24 to get in, and I can't see 2016's be any better if it's open to pre-96.

I reckon it'll be just like Fordfest was, seems a bit pointless but I know people will go anyway.

To me most of it is about meeting up and having a bit of a laugh, i like quite a few of the post 80 fords, rs turbos, cossies, etc, not into lowered mondeos and ka's but i just wont look at them. To be fair they probably spend as much time making their cars how they want them as we do?

Well I won't be handing over my hard earned to look at a Mk4 Fiesta with a boombox and a 5" tailpipe and full of chavs.

I have read this word and heard it said on British TV series so I have been dying to ask someone ....... what is a chav?

its the generation people. Younger folks know and buy the younger cars at least most of them. In my country there is

not so much on classic Fords as in UK. Meetings have been mixed with modern for years. Just local meetings

with only pre 80 or what ever real classic 40+years happen here and there.

Then there might be an interest on commercial side too. More tuning companies for younger cars exists. Attending

Car shows, sponsoring ect. Just my opinion on this.

In the car world these tend to be the people with 1.4l Fiesta's holding them on the rev limiter in the middle of the camp site at 1 in the morning.

Little bleeders just right in the middle of drinking your Horlicks ready for bed
