I’m not keen on the front arches look a bit strange ,probably would’ve made a bit more standard but I guess that’s still knocking on £100,000 with premium

I agree if you don't have the wheels to fill them then standard guards are best. Especially for a rarer model.

Not quite - £75,000 + Buyers premium @ 8% = £6000 + VAT on the premium @ 20% = £1200 . . . . . . .Total £82,200 ! Still a chunk of change but less than 'those in the know' thought it would reach!

Courtesy of @dt36 you cant blame record prices on the RS Tax any more. That's car royalty now. @colr6 be sure to bow every so often when your doing that resto!

Thanks to @Vista for finding this one.

https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/cars/article-11115835/Ford-Capri-2-8-Injection-Special-585-MILES-sells-71k.html

71 thousand quid for a 2.8i Capri is good money if you can get it!

KGFcapri.jpg.f295515e9ffaf19871fa9bc0040cff64.jpg

The owner of the Capri  would have got in the region of £63,900 from the sale … KGF maybe top prices to sell  but it is still good money for the seller and a hassle free sale.
I know its not everyones opinion but you cant knock KGF for that at the end of the day they are a business .

That's not the car that has attracted that figure though.

I don't really get celebrity ownership inflating value.

Thought  that was Princess Di’s Rs that went for £650k ?

I saw three prices listed all on the same day and the 750k one was in the middle so thats the one I rolled with!

£650k was the hammer price, add premium @12.5% and the buyer had to cough up about £730k !

Wouldn’t surprise me in the least  , probably bought it  so he can stick his name on the v5 in the hope some mug will pay more for it in the future like he has done with cars in the past …

Did your TC's come with alloy wheels? I think that if I was forking out AUS $100k i'd want it to be concourse condition or better LOL! 🤔

You could opt for 5.5in Rostyle wheels but that was about it and most simply didnt as they really didnt look that sporty. The rest of the car is concourse and as good as I have ever seen but there are clear flaws in his research. We didnt start building Twincams until 1970 yet he has the under dash light switch arrangement of your last 60s Escorts. No way a December 71 Twincam had that when our 1970 models no longer did. Its like hes tried to replicate a UK 1968 /69 Twincam. I mean its good and all but like you those things niggle me a bit if I was buying the most expensive Australian Twincam ever.
